Rain tomorrow, more on the way. Maybe open by Dec 1. Borrego is always open, 68 degrees Wednesday. Check the wind though...

Has anyone been out to the spot with the big tree this year? I was wondering how the “dip” is coming off the road. Can a car make it without having the bumper torn off? I went out there in a Corolla once a few years ago and made it okay, but I know rain and use change that.

With this extra wet rainy season could "The Pink Gate" area see a extended shooting season going into March or late April?

It will close May 1st. It's pretty much automatic now, decided by unknown bureaucrats. It can close earlier, but never later. I once heard Cal Fire decides based on soil moisture, but even that varies by location and altitude.
