Marion Valley Road Border Patrol Activity

It's made the news that the Border Patrol believed they were being shot at from the public land near the intersection of Marron Valley Rd and Donahoe Spur Rd. Does anyone know if their vehicle was actually targeted and hit? My initial thoughts are that someone set up without a proper berm to shot into or possibly some ricochet occurred near their vehicle. There certainly was a lot of response from the Border Patrol.

Apparently they just closed the gate from Pio Pico to the top of the mountain because too many people were falling off the side of the road.

Yours seems a more likely story.

I was hoping to find another way in to take my son riding, but maybe I'll hold off until the cause can be determined.

The story goes it was an intentional act, there was a major LEO response. No injuries reported and I assume it’s still under investigation
