Default San Diego Bans 80%

Anybody hear of this? I'm surprised it isn't making more news here, unless I missed it elsewhere.

I can't wait until they ban shoplifting and public intoxication too.

That's just from the city counsel. You can still buy them in the county.

it's not final, there's an additional vote coming up. Not sure how that works, I read the first vote was 8-1. It's stupid, and contradicts with existing State Law, in that it screws up the legal process to make an 80%. It basically bans 80% building since you can't buy it uncut in order to serialize it and cut it if you're following the state process.

Well that'll solve all that "gun violence"! What a hard day's work!

Another feel good law with no enforcement unless you are unlucky.

Just more political virtue signaling.

That would be racist, discriminatory, hateful.

There's plenty of room in AZ for conservative gun owners who respect the Constitution. State's all full up for liberals, though.

I saw it on the news. It changes nothing unless you get caught with one, it is an additional charge that will probably be dropped anyway. They'll just confiscate it.

The ordinance is banning the sale of firearm precursor parts within the city of San Diego.

Under current CA state laws/regulations...
1. Firearm precursor parts = "80%" receiver/frame.
2. Starting 07-01-2018, a non-FFL is required to obtain CA DOJ approval before they can legally self-make a firearm.
3. Starting 01-01-2019, a non-exempt unregistered self-made firearm is subject to confiscation/destruction as evidence of violating CA self-made firearm laws.
4. Starting 07-01-2022, the transfer of firearm precursor must be done through a CA licensed firearm precursor parts dealer or CA FFL dealer.
