I recommend everyone go to their Itrader ratings now and screenshot your ratings for future reference. that way if anyone ask to see if you are reputable, you can show it.

Okay, thanks for the heads up…and again much prayers for your loss.

Screenshots it is for now.

EDIT: I recall selling someone, sight unseen, never met,
$4000 in goods via PP Gift mind you, based on my iTrader ratings alone.

EDIT2: Each screen page requires three shots to get them all.

Nothing should change on your account, at least with the server move. We're moving the whole kit and kaboodle over so once the move is complete and the DNS repopulates it should be like nothing happened.

The software update is another story.
Again your account, log in, post count and such should remain unchanged.
However since iTrader is a plug in and not a part of the vbulletin software it won't reload automatically. I'm going to try to install the ancient plug in on the new software, there is a chance it will run it but I'm not holding my breath.

Calguns.org is on a different server that I maintain for exactly this kind of situation. During outages, updates or moves the community can stay in touch and continue.

Different company, different plan, different everything. It's more of a shared/VPN type server so we could overrun our resources over time but by the time they complain I expect to be back up with CGN.

Nope, there is no overlap so no conflict using the same info and name.

I'm sure some of you noticed that this is the first year I haven't had a Christmas give away. It's been a bit of a tradition and one I planned to continue however this year the last three months I have been focused on my Father and by the time I thought about it we were in mid-December.
Barring anything else catastrophic coming up the give away will return next year.

And the future, things are going to get fun soon.
Our current host, Professional Edge, is shutting down. mcubed is moving on to other things and the hosting has been a losing deal for some time now. It's a hard business for a smaller company to survive in.

We will in the very near future be moving to a new hosting company and this will cause some other changes.
Our current software is far beyond long in the tooth and nearly all hosting companies no longer support the older version of PHP that this software requires. Whether we want to or not we are going to have to update to the latest version of vBulletin likely early in January.

I've held out as long as possible mainly because I have no idea if certain things like iTrader will run on vB 5.x. iTrader is a 12+ year old plug in that hasn't been supported for at least the last eight years.
I know how important these ratings are to everyone and have tried to keep this version of vBulletin viable but we're 5+ years past end of life.

I will of course try to load and run the plug in but I can't guarantee that it will work. If not I'll find a new rating system we can use, hopefully one that can port over the iTrader info.

I'm sorry this is going to be so abrupt and with sort notice. As I said I was hoping to have had the last several months to work on it and give notice but when my Dad fell and broke his hip everything became about taking care of family.

That's pretty much the latest on what is going to happen. Merry Christmas and take a moment to remember tomorrow whose birthday this is and why Christmas time is here.
I hope your father is recovering quickly. I look forward to the new software update. Thank you.

Upgrading software is sometimes a close relative of waterboarding. Hang in there Kes!

I am an IT Pro.

I’d love to help out with this migration if needed, or better yet; introduce you to our senior engineering team who could absolutely assist with / completely handle a migration & the inevitable issues that arise from any & all migrations like this.

I’d be willing to donate up to a couple thousand bucks worth of labor from myself and/or our senior engineering team.

Please DM me if you’d like any assistance from me or my team.

Work has been crushingly busy lately, but I will try my best to check back here shortly.

That’s a very inappropriate comparison to make.

Water boarding is nowhere near as painful, nor does it last anywhere near as long as major tech software / hardware migrations / upgrades.

What’s the longest you can water board someone before you have to stop, lest you drown them? 5-10 minutes?

Ha!

Tech upgrades can drag on for *weeks* or *months*…..

Kestrel,
Family first! Dads are important and need support even when they say they don’t. We in the Calguns world can chill for improvements and healthy family.
Cheers!
CenterX and family.
