In years past, usually a sale or deal on whole packaged steaks (Prime NY/Ribeye) for the holiday season, not this year. Only pork loin ($8 off, double from years past tho). Unless Mgr from your local store put them steaks on-sale, nationally nope. I was looking forward to stock up the freezer, oh well.
This is Costco's holiday sales ad: https://www.costco.com/holiday-savin...oliday_savings |

Bummer. I didn't do it last year even though I looked at it. Usually the meat quality at Costco and other shops improve substantially during the Holidays. I stocked up on Costco's prime steaks rather than the bag stuff. I like to see what I'm buying, esp. for prime meat. I was telling Calamity that we probably won't fill the freezers this Holiday as it will be too expensive. One thing I'm sure to buy are turkeys, even if Costco doesn't have the Tom's for $10 after Thanksgiving. I usually buy three or four during this time as I have one during Thanks, one at Xmas, one at Easter and one between Xams and Easter. I brine them for three-four days and they come out great for a cheap week of eating poultry.
I'll probably miss the rib roasts though. I also buy 3-4 of them and have them for the next 4-5 months. Costco's boneless, Sprouts bone in, and even Smith's are pretty good and not that expensive. Last year I mean. Probably double the price this year. GDD. (God Damn Democrats)

Although no $25 off on national ads, it appears, store mangers are doing it themselves or via internal memo. My local store had the $25 off per package of Prime whole NY strip steak. However its priced at $12.99 lb, not the usual 8.99. The whole packages were $135 to $225 at my store.
I passed. $12.99 lb whole for prime NY is too much for me even with the 25 off. Stocked up on pork instead. |

Appears to be national. It's up on Costco.com. Bought one as I posted earlier. Meat prices here are thru the roof and the pork are tough as shoe leather except for the tenderloin. $2 a pound off for the one I bought makes up for the waste a bit. I would have bought one regardless as I want to do a wet brining test. Pork roasts were $8 off a package, but are never any good for me regardless of how I cook it. Juicy yes, but always tough.
