OK Corral Match at Burro Canyon Oct 8, 2022

For those who want to get together and sling some lead, the No Name Pistol Club will be having its annual OK Corral Match at Burro Canyon at 9 AM on Saturday, Oct 8 on Rental range 1C across the road from the office. In one stage you will be one of the Earps and one stage you will one of the Cowboys. A vintage 3-gun stage will follow. You can shoot whatever you bring, but the theme calls for six guns, lever guns and double barrel or older Winchester shotguns. Wear and shoot 2 six-guns if you want. Or shoot your Glock and AR.
We run it as a cold range, meaning you do not load until it is your turn to shoot and are told to load and make ready by the safety officer - but no range nazis here. The whole goal is to have fun safely.
After the match is over, usually by noon or 1 PM, we have the range all day to shoot until closing time. It is a fun group and the BS flows freely along with good info.

We shoot at silhouettes, including a "horse" covering part of Tom McLaury - though we do not use a shotgun in that stage as Doc did. In one stage, you as the shooter will be one of the Earps shooting at the Cowboys. In the other stage, you will be one of the Cowboys shooting at the Earps. We then have a 3-gun stage. We encourage the use of period correct firearms but you can shoot whatever you want or have. Usually, there are 12 ga coach shotguns available to use (with your ammo) if you do not have a shotgun. We only use birdshot as buckshot is to destructive on our wooden knockdown targets.

It is a small group - usually not more than 8 or 9 shooters - so the match moves fairly quickly despite all the BS'ing if everyone pitches in to tape and reset targets.

Again - we have the rental range all day, so you can stay and shoot what ever you want after the match.
