Good candid response. It's a great way to piss of some considerable number of folks by providing a rough ETA only to find delays, which seem to almost be the norm. Take your time, do it all right and you'll win the business. That being said, keep your eye on the June 30th deadline!

Watched your most recent vid. I think this is going to be the go to mag lock system. That being said name it right because it will be reported on at some point.

For the speedswitch I like flipswitch.
And for the ?switch I like SAFERswitch. And with that new designed mag lock that you can drop the mags on a double feed it is also safer too.

A SCAR certainly isn't an AR! The non-pivoting way that SCARs open makes the new law very problematic for the platform (SCAR 16 or 17) for a compliance system anything like this one. My (lame) plan is to go with a fixed magazine until there is another solution.

Protohyp - assuming you've taken a SCAR apart - do you have another genius idea here up your sleeve? The market is small, but as a member, it would be fantastic to not completely neuter this amazing rifle. I think most of the owners would pay a much higher price for a good solution here, justified certainly in part by what would be a low production volume.

I would love to do a Scar as well as any other non AR Platform but haven't had a chance to look at them yet nor do I have one. My cousin has one and may call him to check it out and see if there is anything I can do. I'll look into it.

I was just contemplating whether a fixed mag setup like the one protohyp is developing could be successfully and legally added to a BBAW....

Due to the current legal injunction, it’s still legal to possess standard cap mags and even use them in BBAW’s. The mag lock systems in development are clearly faster to operate than BB’s, marrying the two would make for an interesting concept.

no not yet since we aren't in production just yet. I know that there is a distributer out there that does go to the gun shows and shows mostly AR Maglock products so he most likely will be there with the pin is my guess

I will loan you my SCAR 17 (7.62/Heavy) for development work! But again, separating upper and lower is nothing like an AR, no pivot; remove single front take-down pin then slide lower forward, sort of an interference fit. I already put some thought into something even remotely similar and just can't see how to make it work.

It can work...i have it already in my head...just looked it up on youtube.

it would take a lot of engineering and parts to accomplish it though. but it can be done.

I would probably only do it as a one off or per order. its not worth it to spend a bunch in production if only a handful went with maglock and the rest would go featureless. If distributors wanted the scars back on the shelves in something other than featureless it would start to make sense but again you have to be able to produce 5000+ for it to even make sense and they'd have to be sold already.

To confirm. You will only be selling the rear take down pin and the Maglock device needs to be purchased separately?

EBS= Eazy Breakdown Switch or System

On the AR Maglock site they will be selling it as a set. On my site it’ll be both as a set and as just the rear pin alone
