Default Whats the offical deal with online order mags during this past week?

So ive been getting alot of conflicting answers, i ordered mags from gunmagwarehouse and two other places, i havent received anything yet? I was told that if the orders where placed before tomorrow at 5:00pm, we are ok since we now own them even if we dont have physical possesion of them? My concern is should i just go ahead and cancel my online orders?

Would preffer someone with actual legal knowledge ir actual FFLs reply but all help is welcome. Thanks.

Arms Unlimited sent an email saying they were going to continue accepting orders until Friday at 4:59 PM and some orders will ship out after the stay. They seem to think that as long as the magazine has been purchased you are good. Based on reading the text of the Judges decision I would agree. However I am not a lawyer.

Read the order. If you purchased said mag before 5pm Fri, you're good and mags are grandfathered. They don't have to be in your possession

That is.....great news.

Was a bit worried considering I've been in "Pre-shipment" purgatory.

Would you mind posting the email?

From what I have been hearing on the net, It seems you are safe as long as you have purchased before 5pm PST April 5th 2019, I was also worried that maybe I had to have my hands on them before that, but it seems that you are ok as long as you have purchased before that time. Again, just what I have been hearing from Non Lawyer gun guys smarter than myself.
Screen shot, Print out and save your receipts and keep them with the mags, as proof just in case you might need it in the future.

At this point how would anyone know which mags were purchased before 5pm today or were purchased in person out of state and brought back here to California?

Not making any suggestions, just asking the question?

it seems like different businesses are choosing to exercise varying degrees of caution. Gun Mag Warehouse sent an email saying if they don't ship it out by 5PM they will cancel the order. Brownells, Arms Unlimited, and others are supposedly accepting orders until the 4:59 but will still ship after that deadline. Most all instore locations in CA seem to be allowing customers to receive their goods up until 4:59 but not after regardless. It's for sure a harder terrain to navigate for in state distributors and stores.

Gun Mag Warehouse is not accepting any more 10+ mag orders. It's posted on their site. I have come late to the party and the few places I've checked are out of stock. Does anyone know of places still selling AR15 30 round mags. Thanks

Also, can someone please pm the link to the thread where a member compiled a list of vendors who are selling. Thanks

Brownells and other places still has 30-rders still in stock. I would check Botach as well. Good luck!

If you don't mind 40 instead of 30, https://www.botach.com/magpul-pmag-4...azines-3-pack/. They are accepting orders until 3:00pm Pacific.

Also, check out ETS: https://www.etsgroup.us/. Accepting orders until 5:00pm.

Don't trust FFLs. They're just as dumb as we are. And lawyers typically don't give out legal advice on internet forums to strangers. However, you'll find an abundance of armchair lawyers here.

Depends on how the vendors are interpreting what a sale is. I chose to order multiple mags from multiple vendors, not putting all my eggs in one basket.

I believe the burden of proof lies with the government.

You don’t need to prove that you got them inside the legal window. The government needs to prove you got them outside the legal window beyond doubt. Internet orders will always have an email with an order number so as long as you don’t delete that you’ll have your proof. Screenshots and paper print outs can be doctored and they will fall back on cross checking the order number with the seller anyway so I wouldn’t worry about keeping some hard copy in your safe. The paper itself means nothing. Only the trail.

I would imagine something in the future might go like this:

CA-DOJ: Brownells, please provide all sales records for Mr. Doe
Brownells: Lol go pound sand
CA-DOJ: Ok, can you at least verify that these LCMs were purchased inside the 2019 legal window for Mr. Doe and order number 0123456?
Brownells: Yep checks out. Kthxbye.

The package was stolen by package thieves running rampant in the area, while you were at work.

You never received it.

Not quite, Brownells doensn't have to do **** unless legally bound too. Even confirming or denying your order is a massive invasion of privacy.

Well def not if its incriminating. I could see them not doing it even if it helps the defendant just to set the precedent for future cases.
