No plans yet, jimmy. As the Covid dust settles, we'll discuss it.
Either way, a large group would require a more-formal set of range rules, an acting RSO, etc... We've always kept this thing informal, and then again it's always just been three dudes leverin' their levers. This is a new adventure, and with it, shooting in larger groups, will require attention to safe gun handling and respect from all shooters for hot and cold range times. ![]() ![]() ![]()

In the meantime, refer to the Lever Run to Phillip's thread.
Mayhaps we can meet over bullets, brass and powder, and maybe some lunch. ![]()

Skyhawk - love the short barrel and big loop combo!
Today is technically day 11 for the 39a...no joy :/ The Smith is (after 18 days...a couple less if it went thru while they were closed) Anyone eyeing the 1894c that’s in the classifieds, but has to be purchased with a Blackhawk? That .30 carbine one keeps taunting me. |

Tell us about any great deals you've found on a lever gun in the last 2 years. Inquiring minds want to know, include price and where you found it. Pictures too! Maybe you can help me up my game, I know how to search, but tell us about the alert options you use, please. Thanks, Bob |

Here some not so good deals for those that have been "stimulated" https://www.budsgunshop.com/mobile/p...4oct+black+wln https://www.budsgunshop.com/mobile/p...l%2fwd+24octgn I'm not a huge fan of the 73 action but this seems like a decent deal on a Whinchester in 45 colt. https://www.budsgunshop.com/mobile/p...arbine+45+colt Oh my!! This is a beauty https://www.marlinfirearms.com/lever...894-le-45-colt

My favorite gold mining movie stars one of my favorite actors.

Not to thread jack, but -
If you don't love watching Pale Rider, you're just not an American. I'd probably throw Tombstone and Big Jake in the same category! |

One of our biggest Western movie fans is the illustrious Apples. He would favor any Louie Lamour movie. Bet he loved Quigley Down Under and the Sharps rifle.

One would think! ![]() I have yet to see Quigley in it's entirety, but I am familiar with the premise. An older, 30-minute episode of Gunsmoke just aired, titled "Cheyennes". In it was a brand-new Spencer, but Matt said, .44... you could see from the 1959 film footage remastered for digital broadcast that the rifle was indeed N.I.B condition. They found the gunrunners supplying the redskins; this time the 'runners brought a wagonload of ammo along with some guns and just as the "hostiles" descended upon the booty, Chester dumped coal oil on top of the load and Matt lighted the match. Black powder go boom. ![]() And believe it or not, I've not seen all of Clint Eastwood's westerns, and the last time I watched Shane was maybe 40 years ago. These are all on the list! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wind River was great! and reminded me of two different actors in a good, long episode of LONGMIRE.
The lil' stainless .44 Mag Marlin 1894 SBL was called "Wind River Light" by somebody on calguns awhile back. ![]()

Don't hurt your eyes looking at my face but here is a nice shot of my '94 Winchester. This picture is in the canyon off Backus and 30th.

Killer Bee A+(33) Member Since 02/09/2009 but all of my searches are still there and email alerts are still available.. the criteria is quite extensive and always worked for me.. you can customize as many searches as you need until just what you're looking for sifts through.. I really don't like the new website format but I'm not buying much these days, stuffed a 30" and a 40" cannon to the gills each plus everything back home already.. the advanced search, completed items tab (must be logged in) is great for finding past auctions to determine national value.. unfortunately there isn't (or wasn't) a 'sold' tab in there so you have to sort through them all to find sold, and they only keep closed auctions for 90 days.. if you study a particular model, age, condition, etc. for any length of time, you will start to see a trend of what others are bidding and what they actually sell for.. calguns typically didn't have enough or any of the type of guns I was buying to find any for sale or form any reliable data so I kept going back to gunbroker, if for nothing else to see if it was worth listed price.. gunbroker isn't perfect or even the best, but probably the highest traffic and good place to add to your search places.. as for buying from sellers there, I haven't had any issues and haven't encountered one 'no sales to ca' that I wasn't able to flip if I was wanting to bid/buy.. good luck! as for my deals, only one lever but here's a couple of specific 1971 Winchesters I wanted that may have taken a 100 years to land here.. prices may not be stellar but I got exactly what I was looking for, model, caliber, year, and vintage scope mounted where possible.. $585 shipped 4/2012 '71 model 88 .308 w/ Japanese Tasco 3-9x40 model W39X40 on Weaver rings and base ![]() $417 shipped 11/2012 '71 Winchester model 100 .308 w/ Bausch & Lomb BALFOR A fixed 4x on Kuharsky Bros. plunger mount look up that scope and base, I doubt very many of you have ever even seen one and it was something I was hoping to find eventually on a vintage rifle.. if you don't have one of Strobel's books, get one ![]() ![]() $368.17 plus $35 shipping 7/2012 Winchester model 70 .300wm magnaported complete with original sights and white line recoil pad.. shown here with a decelerator pad, sights removed, filler screws, and some older leupold bases, still working on vintage scope but have mounted a couple of modern models for research purposes ![]() ![]()

Killerbee -
Thanks, those are all very nice guns and are really good deals. I've tried and use all those techniques on GB, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I didn't like the changes they made to the site either. |

thank you! I guess it really depends what you're looking for.. modern in-production guns may not be as many deals out of state or out of your own local area.. but the older models out of production is where the broader range helps the most.. and calguns has pulled through with a few '71 guns for me as well

I have not been looking since I buckled when I saw by Model 1873 Deluxe Sporting in .45 colt. I seem to not be able to get a good picture show how beautiful the wood is.
