What were shooting from, a bench, sandbag, prone, free stand, etc. Most slugs produce more recoil than average bird/target shotshell. Could it be a flinch, as in anticipating the recoil? Make sure you’re shooting from a solid rest, and let the shot surprise you. Just like a rifle. You could also try a different brand of slugs, to see if the POI changes.

If you’re right handed, your left hand/arm may be flared out or pulling on the forend making it go left. If you don’t have someone else shoot it or from a bench, make sure you drop your elbow down to reduce some of that pull.
What kind of sights are you using? If it’s a bead sight, you need to make sure that all you can see is the bead. If you’re seeing any more than just the bead, your shots will hit high eapecially at longer distances. |

What range/distance were you shooting at? Also, were you shooting down or up at your target? What kind of sights does your shotgun have? Shooting a bead can be tricky if it isn't on a pedestal. Cops back in the 60's 70's were trained to aim at someone's belly button to hit them center mass.
