Default EOTech EXPS2-0 vs. Trijicon MRO HD

Anyone here have experience with the both the EXPS2-0 and the MRO HD optics? I’m thinking on swapping an Aimpoint H1 out on a 14.5 rifle for the EOTech after shooting with my brothers new XPS2-2. I really liked the wide field of view in particular, and after a few mags I was faster with the EOTech out to 50yds than with the H1. Shots out to 200yds on reduced silhouettes using the dot were a cinch as well. I’m considering the EXPS2-0 for the higher QD mount (I prefer lower 1/3 mounts to absolute) and single dot reticle.

My primary question is regarding the reticles. Does the MRO have the same “fuzzy” segmented ring as the EOTech? Or is it more crisp and defined? I also like to option of being able to switch from a single 2moa dot to the dot/ring reticle with the MRO as well. I know I won’t have as wide a field of view with the MRO as the EOTech, but from the limited handling I’ve had with a standard MRO in comparison to the H1, I prefer the MRO’s wider objective.

Again, the new optic will be going on a 14.5 middy I put together as my primary training rifle and CQB/mid range setup. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance

My opinion, I have a comp M5 and an EXPS 3-0 and had a MRO gen 1, I like the Eotech better. The wider field of view and I appear faster with it than the M5, though I’ve never run it with a timer (and I’m not in any way shape or form and operator). Batteries don’t last as long as the MRO, the reticle appears to be the same as the Eotech. 123A batteries are everywhere, in a bad situation you should be able to find them still. I believe the Eotech lasts approximately 800 hours per battery, so you’ll have to stack them fairly deep. Check Www.koshersurplus.com They have great deals on eotech’s and ship fast.

Thanks HAVOC, I’m leaning toward the eotech as well. Handled my brothers rifle with the XPS2-2 again yesterday and really like that big window and FOV

Edit: Ordered the EXPS2-0 from koshersurplus.com, $491 shipped. Thanks for the recommendation Havoc!
