Default Closing of the coastal ports

Port districts are closing many/most of the coastal fishing ports. I'm aware of Oyster Point to Morro Bay.

Opening day of salmon (4/4) could be a ghost town.

As far as I know the port isn’t closed. The boat launch is closed. Good thing my buddy has his boat in the water at the dock. We’ll be slaying them.

Lucky him!!!!
Planned to go out of oyster today, nope.

Wasn't going to fight Richmond.

So much for butts this year, unless they release the restrictions by summer....

Ya...maybe I worded that wrong, but most salmon sporties launch.

Mine's out of the water for maintenance. Slip renters can use the launch to get back in the water at Santa Cruz (at least for now). Give Harbor Patrol a heads up and they'll manage the barricades is what they told me today. I plan to go back in the water on Wednesday.

Typically opener isn't really the best fishing...or rather catching. More about tradition and camaraderie to me. It's a big ocean and it helps to have friendlies on the water to find the fish. Gonna be a ghost town out there if this lasts into the opener. I suspect lots of crab pots to dodge too. At least there won't be a lot of boats to dodge.

Monterey was scheduled to close this a.m. per sources down there. I believe Moss is on the same schedule.

I have heard that Westside ramp would be opened this week but only for retrieval of crab gear in an effort to cut down on whale entanglement
open from 9-10 am and closed at 300 pm

Why close the ramps no virus at sea. How do we get away from the diseased californians.?

There you go again, using logic. Its about control. In San Diego they closed the beaches, where surfers and kayakers cannot enter the water, but cities north of us are keeping their beaches open.

I think itís to keep people from traveling here. We call the out of town fleet the Bakersfield Navy. Bunch of kooks following everyone around in circles. I guess the coastal towns donít want the influx of tourists.

I have heard the same in the last couple hours, but have not verified. Hopefully true.

Recently I've seen charter fishing boats, sailboats, saw 2 yachts, and after dark some people on a pentacle through the West End Catalina Eagle Nest Cam, and mostly on the West End Outlook Cam:

If he's a buddy ask him if you can cut the lock and replace it with another. Stash a key.

Then again, need a place to launch it.

I’m actually glad our ramp is closed. We don’t need a huge influx of people from out of town. My city has only 6 cases.

^Probably a while. Fish and game owns the property so it’s going to be when they feel like it.

I see the ocean is open to fleet and docked boats, this one just passed the West End (yeah that's an American Bald Eagle):

They pass all day and night, last night 2 gun shots about 30 minutes apart, may be dispatching a shark.
