Default Body Armor for prep

Can you guys give me a direction for good body armor but under 1k.

I want lvl 3A soft armor with option to add plate for added protection.

Is this decent armor? any recommendation?

Thanks.

Hoplite Armor is amazing and they are pro 2A to the max. Hesco makes great light weight plates too I have them in my carrier. I’d go with hoplite just because how much they support the 2A.

Or the Hesco 4400 is a great line too.
Maybe look into https://www.trex-arms.com/store/Hesc...eat-Plate-Set/

First- how do you shoot?

Weaver does not work with wide armor.

If you shoot with a bladed stance- armor stinks

Find armor that works with your shooting platform

JMO, if you are going to go to the trouble & expense of wearing & buying armor, you may as well get rifle-rated gear.

I'd go with III+

Red face

SOFT armor keeps you mobile, and the local crackhead division will all be armed with Hi-Points and Lorcin .25's - it'll do fine against that.

If someone WANTS you, with a 5.56, .308, or better, you won't have enough armor to start with to stop it. Might as well get it over with quick!

There is an educational thread on body armor. Worth the read.
Here it is: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...d.php?t=498169

The only "insert" that would help you is a level III hard plate. In that case you might as well toss the IIIa piece aside.

And there really aren't any decent concealable level III solutions. I've seen people wearing clothes over the top, but they weren't really concealing anything.
