Giaking,

Don't overthink AZ.

They have constitutional carry. All law enforcement assume people are armed and ask if you have any weapons if they feel the need...

It's not like CA where it ccw is more "unusual"...

Any good places to shoot outdoors in Arizona, especially easily accessible BLM land near the CA border where I can shoot tracers and tannerite? I had an Arizona CCW but I let it expire because I never went there due to lack of a good shooting place.

I still have my Nevada CCW because I like going to Vegas and the nearby Sloan shooting area, where I can shoot tracers and tannerite except during the summer fire season.

As of 06-30-2015; tracer ammo, incendiary ammo, Tannerite targets, other binary explosive targets, and all incendiary devices are banned on all BLM lands in AZ.

Where are you guys going to get fingerprinted. The cheapest I found is Victorville police department for $10 a card.

Usually training providers charge a nominal fee. Doesn’t have to be LEOs to roll prints (like FL).

$10 per card is reasonable. So $20 total.

How did you find out it was approved before receiving it? Did they reach out to you?

Probably based on the issue date.

Is that just BLM? There's a lot of not-BLM land in the state.

Just my opinion - BLM got a lot of power given to it in the tree-hugger Clinton administration, way too much. They went a little too far "protecting" stupid little frogs and stuff nobody cares about, has ever seen, or heard about.

Only allowed on private property with typical restrictions. I'll be shooting tracers and blowing up tannerite tomorrow for my friends 40th

Bumping this thread to see if anyone's gotten an AZ permit this year. Just wondering on what the wait times are looking like currently?

Eight months and it's time to renew mine, even though I now live in Arizona.

I just received mine. After sending in the application and fingerprint cards the permit arrived in less than two weeks.

I put my application in the mail yesterday. I’ll let you know. Their form says 6-8 weeks.

I actually just got mine back because of an error on my class certificate. They received on a Tuesday and I had it back on Saturday. They had stamped and marked everything else so it seems like it was almost entirely processed already. Surprisingly fast.

I sent it back in with the error corrected yesterday, we’ll see.

I was stoked to learn you don’t need a class if you already have a CA CCW (or CCW from any state they offer reciprocity with).

I was even impressed with their return time when I submitted the request for the application in the first place. I got it in the mail in like 4 days.
