Default Wrong Serial # on 2010 DROS

My father was going to gift me a S&W K22 (post-war, pre-17 circa 1952) revolver but we noticed the PPT DROS (from 2010) lists the wrong number for the SN. The LGS listed the assembly number that is stamped on both the frame and crane where they meet, not the serial number.

The LGS is now out of business and I’m sure it would be too late to do a correction anyways, so what can be done correct this?

Wondering if a simple intra-familial transfer would be acceptable? Could my dad also do a Notice of No Longer in Possession with an explanation letter of the situation? Should I call the CA DOJ for their opinion? I have my C&R license but am guessing that doesn’t help in this situation.

I’ve read of many scenarios to resolve this but nothing for a mistake that was this old.
