Smile Virginia Nonresident CCW

Hello,

New guy here with a Virginia Nonresident CCW Permit.

Has anyone had issues renewing or using it for purchases in California?

A store manager told me they could not accept it for FFL because it is a Unicorn badge in California.

I am up for renewal next year and it may be interesting to get through it all. I hope there are others here like me. And I am looking to get a California CCW soon.

Can’t use it for anything here in CA.

The exemption for purchasing is with a CA CCW.

Also, you are from the Bay Area. If you are in San Francisco you have ZERO chance of getting a California CCW. If that is the case and you want your permit you will need to move to a CCW friendly county. Good luck!

I received my Alameda County Sheriff CCW in FEB 2023

Now renewing my Virginia CCW they sent an email they received and I was told hopefully they would get Pennsylvania back on the list for non-residents.

Pennsylvania updated their rules a few years ago - they do NOT recognize any non-resident licenses.

But it's really easy to get a non-resident PA permit. The only problem is that you have to pick it up in person.
