Default M+M M10X; anyone have experience with one of these?

I have an opportunity to pick up one of these in trade but it looks like It's 100% proprietary parts and shares nothing with any other firearm with the exception of using AK mags. Any of you guys have one of these? Did you/do you like it/love it/hate it? Did you sell it and wish you held onto it or did you sell it and still smile at the memory?

Thanks for any info!

I’d say pass on that one:

Not highly regarded on akfiles forum due to reliability issues. I have no firsthand experience though.

Thanks, my research showed pretty much the same things. I passed on the trade.

I have the older M+M M10, and it is my go-to. It never failed, regardless what ammo I fed it. Not a beauty queen, more like a trusty pickup truck.

I donít know much about the M10X though, sorry not too much help here.

I have the same one, the M+M M10. Such a great rifle, exactly like you describe it. Like a Toyota truck that always starts. Weirdly accurate too.

The 10x is a completely different rifle though and Iíd pass on that one

Correct, made by the Cugir factory in Romania. The M10 is essentially a Wasr with a few bells and whistles.

Garbage. Your money would be better spent on a Gen 2 Ace.

It was offered as a trade; I wouldn't spend coin on a proprietary system like that unless it was outstanding. If he offered a WASR and a handful of cash, we might've worked it out.

Second this suggestion. The Ace is a fantastic weapon, with all the promise of the m10xís ergos while actually being reliable, rugged and well-built. I have two Gen 1s (7.62 Nato and 5.56) and might pick up a Gen 2 7.62x39 down the road.

I just purchased one two weeks ago actually. It's the new short handguard version m10x. I was also super wary of the past reviews but apparently the newest version has seemingly solved a lot of the reliability issues and m+m came out with a new, more robust bolt design recently. Definitely was an expensive gamble but I fell in love with the design so I thought what the hell. So far running like a top. DM if you want pics / more info
