I started DROS on the 15th, last 3 of the serial # is 365, so that's pretty cool. Looking at putting spectre ported slide and a 3.1in barrel but that cost's almost as much as the gun itself.

wow, Peninsula Guns is more expensive than City Arms in Pacifica? I thought City Arms was the most over-priced store.

Im not going through 13 pages to see if this was posted already but anyone wanting to change the grip module on the P365 CA edition should watch this short video

https://youtu.be/rfg2ZY9L0Qg?si=eiZTMJWRBsZ3La8R.

Want a longer barrel? There are a number of slides and options for that too. Buying another slide and frame costs nearly as much as another gun, but there's no background checks, no wait time. Just swap the FCU and go.
The cost is a big thing on this one. Why have 1 gun with 2 different parts sets when you can have 2 guns... Cost is a factor for many of us as is value. Also, for those folks that are limited by the number of firearms they can put on their CCW a single gun that can be in two different forms may have extra value.

I just did my range qualification with a 40 cal shield and a full size XD 9mm. I am limited to 3 weapons on CCW. ideally i probably want tiny, medium and ... not sure ... large? Tiny category is the shield, p365, hellcat, and glock 26 (maybe medium because of doublestack and blockiness probably depends on the persons body). Hellcat pro and p365XL are medium, others...? probably with an optic. Full size option (plus optic and light?).

Also, i think the sig rail is proprietary and the red dot mount may be more restricted as well (feel free to check me on this). Sig has manual safety. Hellcats do not appear to have them for the CA models (you decide if that is a plus or a minus for you). regular hellcat is 11+1, sig is 10+1. Hellcat has taller sights but with some optics will allow cowitnessing.

CA doesn't let you have more then 10 for now.... we need freedom future. so buying a hellcat pro only to be able to carry 10 would suck... or feel stupid and like i am getting short changed.

Sig XL slide is 350$
https://www.sigsauer.com/p365xl-opti...bly-black.html

you would still need barrel and then i think spring/springs (i forgot what they said). but thats more cash.

at least on budsgunshop it looks like hellcat mags are around 30$ while the p365 are about 40$.

looks like MSRP for the hellcat is going to be 100$ or more, less than the p365 MSRP.

All that being said glad more stuff is finally getting to the roster. I also saw the M&P sheild plus and M&P 2.0 compacts.

Not really. Glocks and Shields are very common they are always plenty of them in the marketplace. Especially around this time of year, when people sell off guns for other expenses around the holidays. Nothing unusual.

With the videos on how to undo the MD being exposed to those that aren'y familiar with disassembling and reassembling a FCU better yet a Sig, I can see more of this happening especially if a person assumes a recoil assembly can be installed in any position.

The OP of that post mentioned he was trying to take apart the FCU for various reasons and found himself wondering why his takedown lever isnt seated flushed, his error and fault.

I bet his problem had zero to do with the takedown safety bar. He most likely reinstalled the recoil assembly with the flatter sides against the barrel rather than the pointy sides; it is counterintuitive. If you do that, the slide jams and will not come off unless you either depress the sear from the back of the slide or remove the back plate from the slide and take out the striker assembly.

But but…just pay the state for a COE and some extra to Feds to get your FFL03 and you can bypass all this

In theory yes, in practice, you'll have to find a dealer that knows what they are doing to exempt you from the 1 in 30. The big box dealers probably aren't going to care or want to bother with you.

I've used my FFL-03/COE a number of times over the past few years at two Sportman's Warehouses with no problem.

A couple of weeks ago I was at Bass Pro with my SIL and asked if they were familiar with it and they assured me they were.

Looking forward to how you made out on the disco cutout. I have the WC grip coming next week and pick up the 365 on Tue.

So, for you folks that have already gotten your new P365 CA out of jail and to the range, how is the CLI?

Does it impede your sight picture when it's up with a round in the chamber in any way?

Anybody try a grip sleeve with it yet?

Thx!

It not to intrusive, however, it does cover the lower portion of the front sight. I?m sure Apex will come up with a Sig LCI delete soon for those that wish to remove it.

Yup. I always bring them their copies and a copy of the OAG directive on how to run the transaction through DES.

Picked up my 365 yesterday and immediately removed the mag disconnect. Not terribly difficult but you have to be really careful when removing the safety lever or risk losing the safety lever detent and spring. They're really tiny parts.

That's the one. Make sure you choose the one with or without the cutout for the safety lever, depending on whether you're going to remove it or not.

Yes it is a very expensive proposition either way. Converting to XL slide requires the slide part number assembly (which includes sights, extractor etc), requires a 3.1" barrel (which is the OEM CA-compliant barrel) and an XL recoil spring assembly.

Especially irritating that CA-compliant P365s cost $250 more than standard models and lack all of the options. I just got my P365 out of jail and immediately swapped the slide for a spectre comp. Ditched the LCI, mag disconnect safety, and installed a flat trigger. I'm not particularly interested in RDO or pistol-lights on a very compact carry gun.

I also ditched the manual safety, albeit unintentionally During all the work I did not realize I was removing a spring loaded detent and sent that thing into orbit. It'll take some time to get "qualified" on this new piece and get it onto my permit. I'll keep the thumb safety for now but might delete it later on if it's truly superfluous

Oh man I was deathly afraid of this exact thing happening when I was removing the safety lever to remove the trigger bar. If that detent/spring launches, it's gone. Both of those parts (especially the detent) are microscopically tiny.

Also, i think the sig rail is proprietary and the red dot mount may be more restricted as well (feel free to check me on this).
The optic cutout on the 365 is a standard Shield RMSc footprint. My Holosun EPS Carry (see picture above) mounted directly to the slide without the need for an adapter plate (yes, the photo shows the plate but I have since removed it).

Yea it's been a while since I've done any "gunsmithing" and was trying to follow the shoddy youtube video instead of thinking through what I was doing. Luckily I recovered the detent and the spring is only a $6 mistake + S&H. The robovac let me down in recovering that thing lol.

Picked up my P365 today. Some things I've noticed:

LCI falls out easily when you take the optic plate cover off. The plate cover or installed optic keeps the LCI in place, so mine just fell out... oops.

The slide is hard to rack when the trigger is held down to reset the striker. My max 9 racks easier when doing the same.

The safety, when operated left handed, is hard to turn off and on. When operated right handed, it's easier to manipulate. My guess is the actual detent is on the left side of the gun, that's why the leverage is easier and better for right handers. I plan on removing it.

The trigger, doesn't break crisp, but subdued. Very different from my g19 and max9. My max9 breaks more crisp. So what the heck.

Overall, doesn't seem as good in initial review for the money. But I have to see how it shoots.

I plan on removing the lci, mag disconnect and safety when I move it to an XL grip. Range time soon.

I bought a sig optic, just the cheap Romeozero non-elite to take advantage of their sig gun and optic promotion to get $100 that I'll use on another mag and a flat trigger.

Thanks, I especially appreciate the pics!

Yeah, not too bad by the looks of things. Perhaps it could be filed down a tad? Personally I wonder about removing it or the safety, as in the liberal parts of CA if you have to use it for self-defense and end up in court, the DA is going to tell the liberal jury you're a sicko gun nut for removing the required safety features etc. So, if it isn't a problem I'll likely leave mine stock whenever I decide get one?

I'm pretty sure a P365 is my next EDC, as it's roughly the same size as my current Kahr PM9, just slightly longer and slightly heavier, though I can't add one to my permit until I renew, so no hurry (want to rent one first etc).
