I'm pretty sure I will be there. I have an enclosed trailer to haul with. I will confirm as we get closer to the clean up date.

Not sure I can attend as the date is far out, but if I can I have a pickup that can be loaded down with trash.

Anyone planning to do a little shooting that day as well? (Cant drive all the way from LA and not empty a few mags.)

Hey everyone, I contacted the BLM Barstow office through email and they replied with first thanking us for the efforts of cleaning up Hodge road. She wanted coordinates of where we will be cleaning up at to make sure it wasent private property, which I knew it was not. She asked what BLM can provide for us to make it easier for us. I told her it would be nice to have somewhere to drop off all the trash after the cleanup. Through emailing back and forth she seems very nice, but BLM doesn't have any more money in budget this quarter. She said to contact her the first part of October to see if she can do it then. So im in the process of emailing the company (Burrtec) that runs the landfill out there. Would like to see if they can donate a dumpster or let us drop of trash with no charge. Ill keep everyone updated on the outcome of this. Thanks all for signing up to keep our spot clean.

Yea, it really is a shame that people cant clean up after themselves. And that's why I organized this cleanup, cause once I saw the mess I knew I had to do something about it. From what I see out there is mostly shotgun shells, targets, trash, electronics, etc,.

First! Thanks OP for starting this thread!
I shoot at Hodge Road on a regular basis. What a MESS!
I'm surprised that the BLM has not shut this area down.
Count me in! I'll be there with my pick up and a couple of trash cans. (Rake, shovel & gloves) Also, I will bring my EZ UP tent and a ice chest full of bottled water! Look for the California State Flag!
We can't clean all of it on Sat. but we can start to put a dent in it!
Show your Calgun pride, together we can show that California gun owners are "The Good Guys!"

First of all, thanks to you all for making this happen. Like Spartan301 said, we cant clean all of it Sat, but we can put a big dent in it. Second, im still waiting for a email from Burrtec which is the landfill company to see if they would provide somewhere to dump all the trash we pick up.. Third, I am working on some stuff to give out to Calgunners that show up, maybe like a raffle. Ill keep everyone posted on any updates.

Well, I have an update from Burrtec which runs the landfills out there.
I got a email back from the Division Manager and gave me some really
Useful information. He said Burrtec is overseen by the County, and he can't really do anything on his side but was very supportively is cleaning up Hodge Road, and applauded us for making this happen. He gave me a couple names and a number that I will be calling in the next couple days to see if they will support us with a no charge waste disposal.
