Thanks guys. Gotta get people pumped for all the cool stuff the chapter does and ready/aware for next years inevitable battles (legislation and voting ).

We would like to announce the next Ventura County Reloading Clinic

Date: Sunday, February 2, 2014 (Groundhog Day!)
Location: The Secret VC Reloading Facility, Camarillo, CA 93010
Time: 9:00 AM to whenever we are finished (mid afternoon probably)

Purpose: For participants, members and the leadership of the VC Reloading Club to learn how to reload in a hands-on, educational environment and to have some fun.

Donation to participate/cover reloading supplies: $50.00
Donation for membership in Ventura County Reloading Club: $20.00
Membership will have its privileges including discounts on future clinics, reloading educational seminars, group reloading supply buys, etc. You must bring cash only to the reloading clinic, we are not setup to take donations by credit card or check.

Class will start at 9am and Instructors should arrive at 8am to set up. Sign up here in the thread and PM me your calgun's name, real name, what cartridge you want to load and if you have any equipment or experience. The donation will be $20 for a year's Reloading Club dues, $50 for the class, some form of lunch and components for 40 rounds of .223, 20 rounds of bottle necked large caliber rifle (.308/.30-06) cartridges or 50 rounds of straight walled pistol cartridges. We are limited to the dies we have and components, so "normal" calibers will be better to work with than 9x18 Mak or .338 Lapua.This assumes that we have the components and dies for your cartridge of choice. If not, provide a second choice. The address will be sent out to those who have committed to come just prior to the event. There is only room for 18 students so sign up asap or wait until the next one. Once the first 18 students have signed up, we will also have a sub list in case people don't show up. If all eighteen students do show up, as a sub, you are still welcome to observe and learn. The donation for a sub/observer will be a $10.00 to cover lunch.

ID will be required. Must be 18 years old or must be 21 to load Pistol ammo unless with a parent.
Just to clarify, this rule, because of insurance requirements, means NO children may attend, NO pets may attend, NO concealed carry!
NO observers, friends, acquaintances, hangers on, groupies, various misc. people who are not signed up. Every person attending must be on the sign up list and if not reloading, we will need a donation of $10.00 to cover lunch costs.

Ventura County Reloading Club Seeks Graphic Designer

We are seeking a Calgunner who is a graphic designer who would be willing to donate their time and graphic design skills to our non-profit reloading club. We need somebody with killer design skills, patience and a desire to help us grow by designing a promotional flyer for the CGSSA Ventura Chapter Booth at gun shows, local gun shops and eventually instructional materials for classes, banners for gun shows, etc. The work load will be light, just perhaps one small project every few months. None of the officers of our club have design skills and we need help to present a professional image in recruiting new members and students for our reloading clinics. If you have design skills, want to learn how to reload and want to help us spread the word about our club, PM capybara, JJ805 or Stardunk and let's discuss. We are a non-profit venture so there is no pay, but we may be able to work something out in regards to attending a reloading clinic, group buys, etc. in exchange for your efforts.

A MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!

The Ventura County Reloading Club February 2, 2014 Clinic is officially fully booked! We managed to sell out all twelve student slots in less than 28 hours. We are still fielding requests from more students, wanting to join us for reloading instruction.
Even though the Ventura County Chapter just recently purchased, built and setup their own reloading table with eight brand new reloading presses, which can accommodate up to twelve students, Big Bronco has volunteered to bring up the OC Chapters equipment, table and presses, This will give us a total of eighteen presses, so we will be able to accommodate up to 18 students for this clinic! We are scrambling to book other instructors too to support this record breaking largest reloading clinic in our history. Please join us, this is going to be an incredible event, there will be a huge amount of collective reloading knowledge in the room, we will have a lot of fun and most importantly, we will leave that day with 18 new reloaders.

We have 17 students booked. We will close the registration after we have one more student booked. Who will be the final student? After we close registration, you can still register as an observer/standby. People who are signed will inevitably flake, leaving an opening and we will fill the openings from the observer standby list.

Based upon previous clinics, we typically have about 30% of our students flake at the last minute so if you want to reload and don't make the student list! sign up as an observer and you will still have a decent chance to reload.

Our February 2, 2014 Reloading Clinic is officially full with 18 students! From here on out, request to be added to the Observer/Standby list, the donation is $10.00 to cover lunch. For any students who flake and open up student positions for the clinic, we will fill the slots from the Observer/Standby list in the order Observer/Standbys are listed in this thread. As previously stated, our flake rate is typically 20 to 30% so if you want to learn to reload, get listed on the Observer/Standy list and there is a decent chance you will get a position.
