I would be appreciative. What powders can you use with it? I have pretty much standardized on either 4064, 4895, or rl15 for rifles and bullseye for pistol. Can I use one of those or am I looking at a new powder investment?

I'm interested in finding out more about reloading, but don't have equipment or anything. Are you guys going to be running any clinics or letting a noob watch how it's done?

For 300 AAC Blackout people mostly seem to use magnum pistol powders or some that are marketed for shotguns. You need a powder in a fairly narrow speed range. Fast for a rifle powder but not crazy fast. H110 seems to be a favorite. I know 4895 is too slow.

If you do a search like "4064 300 blackout" and just scan what comes up 4064 is maybe marginal and too slow.

Apparently bullseye is actually *too* fast.

In addition to the H110 I have some notes that people also like AA1680, IMR 4198, IMR 4227.

Thanks for the info. I have an AR set up for 5.56, but I'm currently putting together a SPRish build as well. Once done, I probably will convert the existing 16" carbine build to .300 AAC as my next project. I hate to have two rifles in the same caliber, I feel like I am wasting an opportunity to be shooting/reloading something new.

We will discuss the 300 as I recently began experimenting myself. I tried 3 of the powders listed.

Nice meeting some of you folks tonight. Sorry I got there to late for the greet part. Traffic woes and Ivan forgot to give out name tags again. Until we can get
down to the real business at hand, I can't stress enough picking up components along the way as you find them available. A pound of powder here, 1K primers there, you get the picture.
If you have questions on caliber specific powders or components, ask away here.
In this climate, your not going to loose out and can always trade down the road.
We had a few people in attendance tonight who are more than capable and can take you from clueless to confident in one afternoon.
I read reloading books for 15 plus years before getting started. I thought it was rocket science, It's not. Follow the rules and you'll be fine.

I need large rifle primers and certain powders but not sure I can go. Gotta get there early. Few guys got there so early they parked for free cuz no one was there yet haha!

Oh my lord. Can't believe I missed the meet and greet. I bought an LnL AP two months ago. I've been researching and reading manuals until now. Just bought all the components and equipment and they came in yesterday (Sept. 5). The meet and greet would've been real helpful. It took me from 10pm-2am yesterday to set up my press. What's up with another meeting? I'm from San Jose but I'm more than willing to come and learn. I'll bring y'all some donuts.

Not sure. Might have been an accident on the shows part. Doors open at 9. I'm in San Ramon and leave no later than 8. I park off site for free and walk the 10 minutes. The crew putting the show on is usually running right up the minute and I think the parking fee goes to a different group.
