So here is the update I promised yesterday.
As most of you probably don't know, nubrun can no longer head the I.E. chapter. Family obligations will always take priority. I have not forgotten about the IE and am working with stilly to get a class going. Why it is being delayed is because there are only 3 State coordinators, BigBronco, Dark Mod, and myself. Last month we hosted the Long Beach clinic, just finished our own last Sunday, and we are going to Ventura next month. All of the local chapters are pretty much dependent on our equipment to get a clinic going. We do not mind going to other venues at all, but our time is limited. Bronco and Dark Mod are married, and I am fervently trying to get hired in either the FD,SD, or PD. Not to mention we just hosted 2 bullet buys, which took a ton of energy and planning, I just did a trimmer group buy for the chapters, and we are working on a few bigger projects that I cannot mention at this point in time. We are working our butt off for you guys. The second main problem is finding a host. I spoke with stilly, and he would be open to hosting an event as long as we give him ample time to clear space. Lastly, the other problem is components. Since we (state/OC) are supplementing our own personal supplies for the clinics until we get reimbursed, it puts a toll for future clinics. Since IE really has zero club funds, the clinic would be dependent on us pulling from OC or personal supplies to be able to host it. Again, we don't mind but it puts a strain on our own bank accounts running around getting supplies for the club. I'll pm with stilly again and see if I can get one organized for next month. I will shoot for the week after Ventura to get one going. Hopefully we will have enough volunteers to student ratio to make this happen. Any quesitons feel free to PM me. I'll update you guys in about a week or so and give you some concrete dates and times. Mike

WELCOME! :\ Now what? Oh yeas, Everyone will need to have a pair of black and yellow plaid socks and OD cargo pants. Let me gather a list of materials that you will need to buy online... I will keep the buget to $800 is that okay? Just kidding. :\ Who wants to make some bullets? I REALLY hope that everyone wants to make 9mm because THAT is where the REAL shortage is right? ![]() What is the date? Sunday the 27th of October? In Riverside right by the Auto Center, the address and REALLY important stuff will be sent to those folks before the event. I was thinking a lot and I think as long as things work out with me that I can stay here and I can provide a host location and then some for future clinics. There will be some minor details to work out but for now let's shoot for the 27th. Who plans on attending? I do not know what the costs are yet but I think that there is something different planned for this clinic so things might be a bit different than before. Anyways, let's get this dialogue started. I think it is about time I have a few events at my house to compete with the folks across the street... Okay what is next.

Now that I'm an Official Member and all of the Calguns Reloading Club (we need something to put in our Sig Line), what happens next? I remember BigBronco talking about the ambitions of the club and acquiring of equipment and it sounded interesting.
Any more clinics? I'm itching to learn and load more. I'll be on the lookout for Black Friday sales for anything reloading related to get myself set up.

With Christmas and the New Year nearing. January looks busy with the Shot Show and all. Most likely a date in February will need to be set.

I am going to hold a bit of a drawing. I have three extra Crossroads of the west gun show V.I.P. passes that expire on the 31st. If you would like to go and get in free then post and send a PM to me with a contact number so I may get a mailing address.
On Friday night I will draw two people from the names. First draw gets two passes second draw gets one. The Delmar show is scheduled on the 14th and 15th of December, Ventura and Reno both on the 21st and 22nd and Las Vegas on the 28th and 29th. Here is the catch, you must have posted in one of the club threads prior to my offering them in this post. Making this open to any one one from any CGSSA reloading club chapter. Oh. News tidbit. Reloading club members now get a 5% discount when ordering bullets from Missouri Bullet Company www.missouribullet.com. Contact your chapter lead for the discount code. We can all thank Bumslie this. Wishing you all a great Holiday season.

I'm in for the next class, been trying to pick up a Dillon 550 used via fleabay for a month now with no luck on a deal.
As for the funds supplies I have a suggestion: Make everyone who attends brings at least one component for loading. Brass, bullets, primers, or powder... simple! Also, with all the changes within the IE chapter recently, our new CGSSA Lead is now Chaos47. Have any of you spoken with him? Please keep me in the loop for the next workshop in February.

I am interested in learning to reload as well.
I have a Savage 110BA (.338 Lapua) that I HAVE to start reloading for. @ $4.00 a round off the shelf for the cheap stuff, I need to get that cost down. I've heard that with rounds this large (.338 Lapua Mag), there are some presses that are too small for this to fit well/properly. I'm not interested in cutting corners, I want to do it right and most importantly, I want to do it well so in order to do that I need the right equipment.

Is the new "seminar" going to be a beginners class? If so, how can I get in on this?
I'm starting to build my inventory of equipment and should be ready to start reloading for myself by the end of spring. So far I've got a press, dies in two calibers, a powder throw, and two different size primer tubes. That's it though, still need to get quite a bit more stuff for what I want to reload. Looking forward to trying my hand at it in a supervised environment. |
