OK, this is NOT a LA reloading club. This is a statewide reloading club hoping to soon be affiliated with the CGSSA. This is just the LA chapter. Anyway, on the 15th, we will ACTUALLY start the club and those who attend the first meeting will be the ones deciding exactly what our chapters priorities will be at first.

I just received the club's first donation of brass from a Calgunner up north! Do we sell it to fund equipment?, Use it for classes? Or, just distribute it to members in need? So many questions about how we should run our chapter.

Use the brass for class or pay it forward to a member in need. I think all members should dig out stuff they know they haven't used in years and probably won't ever use it and donate. I think I have a spare set of 8mm dies and some other stuff that I'll donate for members (that plan on staying) in need.

So anyway Greg, I'll do my best to be there. Is Crazy Otto's by jack in the box or Micky D's?

Well seeing how you're the one taking the lead on this... I'll give you the dies, a primer flip tray, an almost full bottle of case lube and an old scale to use for the class. That way there's some stuff for guys to use if they need it.

We sold the donated brass at fair market prices to any participant that didn't bring their brass to class for exchange. We will use the money to buy club equipment.

I understand. I already drove over 2 hours each way to go to the first reloading club meeting. Why don't you find a place to hold a meeting and a place to hold classes closer to you? When you have the venues arranged, shoot me a PM and we can start planning something down there. Just don't be surprised if those in other parts of LA County don't want to drive to you. I'm an hour or more from Malibu, Agoura Hills, Lancaster, San Pedro, Santa Monica, etc. Of course, you're even farther than I am to some of those areas. LA County is a big county. We have to start somewhere. I was asked to get the club going so, it's starting somewhere only +30 minutes from my home. Anyway, either come up and share your ideas or find a place down there to start another sub chapter. Either way, I'll be there to help.

We foresee L.A. county ending up being spit in to 3-4 zones. If you can make it the first meeting you will be a start to getting things going closer to home. That is if any of you are up to the task. Several of us from Orange county will be making the trek to Camarillo to help out. Just how far are you willing to go to help yourselves out?

Reading the last few posts I was wondering if we should have a north LA and south LA chapter. Do we get to dress like bikers? As long as it's leather and not spandex, I'm down! Also, I'm in it more to help others out with my own benefit being secondary. Let's do this!!!

I have a Ken Light machine with BMG, .308, and .338 plates. I won't donate it, but will loan it to you long term if you like....

As a brand newbie to hand reloading(desire but no press) I would be interested. I will be out of town for the 15th, but will keep an eye on this thread 'cause I will need your experienced advice to get started correctly.
