Sure is pretty up there from here.

There needs to be a great big Calguns logo plastered on the range.
Like a huge chalk line only bigger.
Something the Astronauts can see from space

Wow! I go to Paso Robles for the Wine Festival for the weekend, AWAY from the computer, and all hell breaks loose. Seems like all's well that ends well, thank you Sosoomi for being so up on it and solving this before it became a huge issue.

As for everything else, guys, we really need to all be on the same team, we all want the Glass Factory to stay open, we all want a nice, safe place to enjoy our 2A rights. I sense a lot of tension, undoubtedly exacerbated by Kamala Harris' announcement from yesterday. Remember, our enemies LOVE dissension in the ranks. Without us being unified and working toward our common goal, our rights are gone. Yes, we want the range to stay clean, yes, the idiocy of some people who think that they can dump appliances legally in a National Forest is breathtaking but issue solved, lets all put our heads together to make the place and our situation better and not jump down each others throats.

Thanks and have a great week.

Well I agree with Capy... We must stay united and positive.... Education in this big issue as always... This range has been a dumping ground for years but with hard work and persistence we can change that... Always better to recruit than alienate but remember there is a certain segment of society that disappoints.... That we just have to suck up and go forward!

Thanks to those that gave me support.. We got lucky this time! :-)

Thats actually a huge thing you've done. If there is any way to patronize the establishment the guy that cleaned up those appliances runs / works for - please PM me. Id like to tell them that they might have made a mistake but they made good on it and the community respects that.

I think a huge, no trash dumping sign is needed, as well as a warning of surveillance with a hefty fine. I know there is a small one, but it seems a larger one is needed.

***************NOTICE********************
THIS AREA IS SUBJECT TO SURVEILLANCE FROM BOTH FEDERAL FORESTRY EMPLOYEES AND PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS.

IT IS A CRIME TO LEAVE DEBRIS IN THIS NATIONAL FOREST AREA...BLAH BLAH BLAH.

IF YOU BRING ITEMS TO USE AS TARGETS, YOU MUST REMOVE THE ITEMS AND ANY DEBRIS FROM THEM.

YOU MUST ALSO REMOVE ANY FIREARM CASINGS, BRASS OR PLASTIC SHELLS.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION.

Deadbolt,
I see a T-shirt in that artwork.

'Keep it clean or lose it' and the 2 logos on the back.

The left chest would have some sort of artwork depicting the Glass Factory Cleanup Coalition (GFCC).
Coalition of course made up of ALL the entities involved in keeping the range a community asset.

In fact this same 'Keep it or Lose it' theme could be replicated at all California public lands designated for shooting.

Shirt sale/donations money going to benefit the GF.

I know, late to the conversation.. Somehow the notifications started going to the spam folder. Just wanted to say that when I saw the pics of the fridges I wad a bit peeved but I agree with Sosoomi on this one. Great job tracking the guy down and getting him to clean up his own. I was there for the last 2 cleanups and get a bit discouraged when, after all that hard work, someone comes in and trashes the place. Now this guy has been warned so hopefully he wont dump again. If he doe, he'll know better than to leave his name on them. In any event he will know that people with guns know who he is. That is one hell of a big deturrent!

See you at the next cleanup.

Deadbolt,
Lets make a T-shirt design utilizing either the Keep It Clean or Lose It' phrase capitalize as shown, also with the Lose It slanted like your art reflects.
Or use the KICKS idea staggering or stcking the second line.

We really do need to come up with some sort of Glass Factory or Santa Barbara logo depicting the coalition of ALL the entities, clubs etc involved. Or possibly something with the regional SB flavor?

My thoughts are to imprint these on a Natural colored T-shirt, not white but the natural cotton color. Will be 100% cotton, probably about a 5.4 ounce or thereabouts.
If designs are multiple colors we'll use DTG, if one color we can go with screen printing.
We can also embroider the logo on hats/visors as well as Sport shirts.

Lets test this out and see what comes up.
Anyone else with ideas jump in here and voice it.
Any artists out there with an idea please post it and we'll see what we can do about bringing this to life.

Keep the costs low and send the donations to help with the Glass Factory operations.

A few thoughts;
Capy you may need to scout out someone for an account to maintain funds or devise a plan to disperse funds.

Someone w need to talk to Ranger Larry and his folks to get permission to use the Forestry logo for promotional purposes, specify for these shirts only.

Might reach out to the various entities for artwork ideas or preferences.

We can do many designs and make this a long term campaign as in ongoing. So having the artwork designs PERFECT is not an issue as is pride of authorship.

First batch will be simple to get attention and get the word out.
A back is the best advertisement there is.

What do you folks think of this as a plan for action?

Maybe we can put together a team of artist-graphic designers to work on this?

Vick

out of the gate : I love the idea.

Tempter Old Man Syndrome : Im concerned about revenue being misappropriated / not being 100% funneled into the Glass Factory preservation (whatever that looks like)

Its a lot to chew on and I'm certainly not (and please do not construe this as) trying to cop out on it - but there are many "moving parts" as the business world likes to relate and I'm not entirely sure we have a clear goal nor measure of success.

If we can derive the two items just mentioned, I can see merchandising working to our benefit - but only then. Not trying to be a stick in the mud but there are so, so many more efforts that this sort of endeavour relies upon that if we embark on it prematurely it completely undermines all other efforts.

my honest 2cents. We (Santa Barbara Types) are in a "by-period" right now, with the range being closed for the fire season, etc... it simply makes no sense to press tshirts and get the public stoked for what would literally amount to 3 weeks of do nothing enthusiasm.

That being said : We are presently working on better and bigger ways to make the Santa Barbara Glass Factory a safer, better experience for all law abiding citizens and while communication to "the outside world" (as I am doing now) might trickle in a bit slow - please be patient as we all literally fully devoted to keeping this range open, and operating not only as clean as it has ever been but also as safely as it has ever been.

I concur with the above, we have time.

Time to pass around the idea of artwork for a shirt design and get input from all parties involved.
The long term goal is to keep the Glass Factory alive, no need to wait until the 11th hour to get things ready for opening day.

Its a seed.

Why limit it to Glass Factory?

The title KICKS is so great, spread it around. Statewide campaign status.

Do the logo artwork and underneath that list ALL of the clean up efforts calgunners are doing, kinda look's like a concert tee w/ tour cities listed. This way, more appeal to a wider audience. Buy 'em from CGN store or CGSSA store (if there was one) to avoid having to account for money although it may pool to a general fund (???). Just throwing it to the wall.

I vote white tee's or heather grey.

You have a chance to help the cause. You have all the evidence you need. You have admission of guilt. You have physical evidence. You have pictures.

I'm hoping Capy will see this and agree. I'm hoping Capy or someone else who has a relationship with Ranger Larry will take the appropriate steps.

Actions cannot go unpunished. I'm sick of this sentiment, it's ruining this country.
Strong gun community member.

Whats ruining the country is people using govt agents to do their bidding. You want this guy fined 5k for an honest mistake? You are no better than the crooks in the capital.

How about being a real person and confronting this guy and telling him what he did is wrong and spread the word.

Or you can just tattle and let the govt collect 5k from a fellow california gun owner.

Don't be a communist.

Yahoo news is full of it....

The White Fire... To the north and below (loosely) the GF, was caused by a guy dumping hot BBQ ashes in the grass. There were a number of witnesses. It started in a day use area adjacent to the Ranger station.....

The Olive fire.... Well north of the Glass Factory, at the intersection of Highways 246 and 154, was started by power lines creating sparks attributed to the high winds. (Forest Service). I drove by this yesterday and although it was called a vegetation fire (grass fire) it wasn't too far from residential areas.

No injuries have been reported and little property damage... A car or two I think.

No local news even suggesting recreational shooting involved.... Never was...!

its been a long month of May, fine sir or madam.

My yahoo saltyness stems from the "no working remote" directive. Talk about shooting one's self in the shin. Nothing more nothing less.

Great job on the cleanup. If only people would be more respectful of the range before these politicians use any excuse to close it forever. In the meantime, I guess I will have to pay to shoot at the winchester gun club.

Anyone else missing shooting at the Glass Factory as much as I am? ;-(

Looking forward to installing some steel and we have some other ideas for range improvement, policies and procedures to make the GF a better, safer place to shoot at.
