Yes. The pinned telescoping stock has a long length of pull and is too low for a comfortable cheek weld. I changed it to a Mesa Tactical Urbino with Limbsaver. The shorter LOP and adjustable comb give a comfortable cheek weld. The Limbsaver mitigates recoil substantially. I do prefer the Benelli grip however and found that it will fit nicely on the Urbino.

I didn't know you could change the grip! How does it mount?

It's a rubber sleeve that slides on/off.

The only FFT part I have is the 3/4" steel charging handle. It has been superb. I tried the GG&G offering. There was an issue with the way the detentes were milled that didn't allow it to lock in place - it fell out frequently. I don't know if they've rectified the problem, but I'm very happy with the FFT handle.

Just to be clear, you bought a new grip for your mesa. You didn’t pull the original grip off the M4 stock.

Asking because I’ve tried like heck to pull the original grip off. It won’t budge. I’m assuming it’s glued.

That’s exactly what I did since I planned to sell the original fixed skeleton stock. I never tried to remove the grip from the Benelli stock. The Urbino grip came off easily iirc.

I've had no problem with FFT parts. I got their trigger group, charging handle, bolt release, and handguards.

They used to make these guns with Conventional Buttstocks.

I got to shoot a few shoots thru one in one of my Front Sight Classes. The guy next to me was an Alaska State Trooper and it was his car gun.
I was afraid I was going to like the gun too much and have to have one, but it turned out that "he" liked my A5 so much that he had to have one of those.

Not a big fan of the Pistol Grip Stock but the one with the conventional stock handled and ran well.

Just a question for all you M4 owners. I've been looking and I find myself considering the M3 more and more. Was there any reason you decided against it?

Personally, for me it came down to aftermarket parts availability, and I wanted the gas system instead of inertia (is one better than the other? I have no idea, but I liked the idea of the gas system)

Just curious anyone wish they went with a Beretta 1301 instead of the M4 / M1014?

Thanks

Anyone knows the difference with NP3 and titanium cerakote? Which is better?
Also, is there a way to search by serial# what one have and built year?

Reminds me of all the threads I've seen talking about Benelli m4 clones, particularly turkish ones. Everyone is always saying they're dimensionally identical, interchangeable parts, etc, so they're "basically the same gun, only less expensive"... but something tell me that from a metallurgy, refinement, and QC point of view, they're probably not the same. I doubt they use exactly the same alloys, I doubt they have the same attention to tolerances, etc.

The M4 is a tank, being around for alone time. The fact is was adopted by the military, proven tool, short supply, and some believe after it was showcased in John Wick the supply and demand has helped the price increased. The M4 does have less plastic parts than the 1301T. I have both, love both.

Is anyone looking to trade their Black Benelli M4 for a H2O Model?
