Default Poor performance of 5.56 Green Tip
Hi everyone, this is my first post so please bear with me. I am a life member of the NRA and CRPA, and a Viet Nam Vet. So much for background.

I have a couple of M-4's that I just punch holes in paper with but would like to be prepared for a bad situation if it should occur. I have been avoiding buying the 62 gr Green Tip ammo because I have heard bad reports from GI's returning from Iraq or Afghanistan. Have heard that the terminal ballistics of this ammo is very poor and it is relatively ineffective, requiring several hits to incapacitate a target.

I am sure that some of you have real world experience and I would love to know if my info is true or just another "Old Wives Tale"!

i registered as a member some years ago recommended by a fellow coworker but never got delve into the forums. i do now want to get informed more so now since i saw a post of fakebook deleting your group recently. i am an nra member. i need to renew my crpa membership. so i hope to learn a whole lot. i'll try and get my buddy to register and get involved here too.

Not quite sure what you mean by proper protocol.

If I'm interested in buying something, I do a search on the Net and through old listing here to see what pricing/value of the firearm is and then either make the Seller a lower reasonable offer or agree to buy it at their asking price.

You should ask the Seller any questions you might have as to condition of the item(s) ahead of time to avoid surprises when you meet up or after you take possession.

If you want to chat a bit or ask questions, send a PM (Private Message).
Click on his highlighted username and the option to send a PM shows up.

No real set of protocols anywhere here that I have seen.

Just be polite and don't try to excessively lowball and all s/b fine.

Good morning! I've just joined the forum after learning about it from a local gun store owned by an acquaintance. Not new to guns by any means but haven't really been active with them for a while.

Main form of entertainment for the last few years has been riding my Harley with my wife. Then some grandkids came along and they became more the focus.

I've been looking around in here and see some interesting topics. Looking forward to spending time here!
