Signing in from Washougal, WA. (Vancouver, WA. next to Portland, OR. airport). From the Carmel, CA. area and have family/friends throughout. I signed up because I'm interested in how things go regarding outdoor shooting on public land. I'm big on responsible shooting on public land.
So as not to mislead anyone, let me give a little background... Currently; Volunteer Coordinator for NorthwestFirearms.com, user name 'Cogs', Founder of Trash No Land, Work full time as HVAC service technician. I've organized a lot of cleanups at target shooting sites on public land in Oregon and Washington and have learned a lot. It has lead me to startup Trash No Land.org in an effort to cause a change in how we treat our own backyard playground. I'm out to make a difference on how public land is treated and to promote responsible shooting on public land. As I search the USA, I find our problems are the same... Irresponsible activity on public land in dumping and in recreational target shooting. I see it's only a few bad apples, but that few gives us a bad name and causes shut downs of perfectly good places to shoot. Somehow, we need to band together to reach those people with a message of "Be responsible and help us protect public land shooting". Already, I see Calguns members are actively involved in cleanups on public land. I'm encouraged! Nice work folks! Hope to see more of it and more members volunteer to help out. It makes a positive statement to the community about preserving our right to shoot on pubic land. (Besides, the 'After Party' shooting is a ton of fun!) I'll be lurking around and hope to chime in on a subject or two. Chat soon, Bill Cogley

Make sure and proofread it before submitting. Also, please read the Marketplace Rules. Location and pictures are helpful. Edit: I see you want to buy a couple things as well. Post those in the Marketplace in the "Want To Buy" section. Welcome and Good luck.

Hello. New to Calguns and guns in general. Gearhead by nature so the mechanics and physics of it always intrigued me. Been shooting with friends before but just purchased my first AR clone about a month ago. Now considering building my own from a stripped lower (before 2017). Just here to soak up information.

I'm sure I've been through when I have a dumb question about guns, so after a lot of years snooping I joined, also at the encouragement of a friend who knows way more about guns than I do.
I've grown up shooting for fun, not really hunted much. Bought a Maverick shotgun about 5 years ago, then a Ruger .22 rifle right after. Now I have a Glock and a Shield so I really went all out this year. Still have a lot to learn. |

Once you accept that Mosin Nagant is the most correct answer, you'll fit in just fine!

I live in the UK, I'm a member of some other forums and know a forum member here, I came mainly to share a few things as sometimes it's nice to talk and share stories.
And living in the uk means I know what a place worse than CA is like. |

Thank you for allowing me membership on this forum...I am sure I will learn a lot, because I am very very new to this, and have quite a few questions....My biggest problem at this moment is trying to figure out how to ask my questions correctly in order to figure out where I might find the answers ?
Having recently purchased a shotgun, I am now looking to buy a target handgun....and am confused regarding the "list" of those that have been deemed "acceptable " and not......I am interested in bidding on a number of older (Hamden) High Standard 22s, but am confused as to weather I will be able to bring them into the state, if I win said auctions, since the manufacturer does not appear to be on this infamous "list" ? ? Can anyone help me with this???? Is it possible to bring them in or what??? Help please ! Best Stephen |
