Nice in MC Black... how do you like that drop pouch?
I love the dangler style drop pouches. I use them on all my setups. I just get the generic airsoft versions. I use them for medkits and ear plugs. Just dont put anything heavy in them or you will be sorry when it swings and hits you in the gut.

I tried to tie one bungee on that nice panel and it looked worse than a condor done in a sweat shop... open top works hahah. I’ll have to try a drop pouch or dump... where can I get that in Multicam?

Do they get in the way at all when you squat / crouch, sit, etc?

I have mostly mil surplus or basic old style static two-point slings and a couple single point. Like on my mini-14 the sling adjusts where you want it and you never adjust it again - to sling a rifle on your back and sling-up/wrap around your arm to steady a off-hand shot. I have a couple Hunter slings where they are auto-retracting, spring loaded, but those wear out. I have one on my pump shotgun that doesn't retract anymore.

Now I have a few Slingsters.

They adjust fine for me with the plastic lever that's on the new ones as long as I support some of the rifle's weight with my strong hand (smooth and fast both ways). I just got a new tan one with my ADAPT front flap... need more QD swivels and a Magpul fisxed Carbine stock QD insert. Everything is hard to find right now.

Anyone try the LBT ultralight two-point sling?

EDIT: I tried one... nice alternative to the OOS Slingsters... For around $48 you get a few extras like HK CLIPS, and silencers. That's cool even though I didn't use the HK clips. Works different from a Slingster but still works and seems to be a lot more steel parts in the LBT.

Not for me. I guess it depends on how low you wear your PC. I dont have any issues with it.

The Battle Steel LVl IV is only 5 pound eleven ounces. Nice construction, foam surround, good curve, relatively light.

The LAPG LV4 is ceramic and 6.5 lbs.. not much heavier..

Less chance of frag compared to steel? $120 and in stock...

The Battle Steel Botach are ceramic too. Same composite materials as the LAPG AFAIK. Maybe weight is closer too who knows. Advertised weights are usually off. I've weighed four Battle Steel Ceramic/UHMWPE LEVEL FOUR and they are all 5 pound eleven ounce. I'd get the lighter ones.

Battle Steel level 4 from Botach or LA Police Gear level 3 or level 4. Get whatever is in stock. Price is $100-$120 depending on coupon codes.

For plate carrier: Ferro Concepts Slickster is awesome but hard to find in stock and sells out quickly.

No offense dude, but that's literally ALL that this thread is about is different brands, makes, models, links & prices to alllllll sorts of different armor....

I'm the last person to say "use the search" or similar; but can you at least read the thread?

i run ar500 3+ lightweight in spall bags but I just bought some plates and stuff from Botach
(who by the way shipped everything immediately and i got it 2 days later lol wow)
MrGunsngear and buffman youtube armor tests convinced me to try the battle steel level 4 plates and some of the soft 3a panels.
The battle steel soft 3a panels for $45 look good. they do not have any actual padding, though. I'd still run a trauma pad for sure.
Ive seen guys run 3a panels under plates but the soft 3a panels they do this with have a trauma pad sewn in.
I think you definitely need padding on the 'meat side'

1.4 pounds weight savings over LVL IV per plate... I guess that's worth it. 5 pounds 11 ounces for Level IV is pretty good IMHO.

That Botach level 4 $99 plate did so well so I had to try their 3+ so i ordered a set for $129/ea just because they say 4.2lbs per plate..but This is the 3+ plate I received.
No complaints i guess (other than it being 5 lbs not 4.2) I Figure I can keep it my trunk for emergencies or loved ones. or take these to the desert and shoot them

Be interested myself. For something that’s gonna be hung up more than ever used, be nice to know if it’s worth it.

Depending on the carrier I find, I might wear it for exercising for the added weight and maybe a pulling harness.

Nah might as well get steel for exercise - more durable than ceramic.

Why get a level IV to hang up. Someone listed the weight at 6 pounds 4 ounces which makes the Battlesteel better IMHO - I have four Battlesteel Level IV and they are all 5 pounds eleven.

Velocity Systems Special Thread $300 .. 6 lbs

https://www.optactical.com/vesyspthcepl.html

Tempting.. I have a set of Hesco III .. super lightweight and the both panels together are under 5 lbs.. Just not sure about my odds of being shot at with green tip.. maybe the better plan is not to be shot. ha! realisticaly the main threat in urban violence is handgun and run of the mill rifle ammo.. but there's nothing wrong with overpreparing I guess.

It's very thick though.. might be a tight fit in some carriers. I have one of the LVIVs in my son's carrier.

FWIW, the Battle Steel Level IV is a perfect fit in the Slicksters. You have to work to get them in, and they don't move.

A lot of people love to spend $100 or $200 or more on carriers, but will a cheap carrier work to hold plates in place relatively comfortably? YEAH. I have Condors and one of the $15.98 carriers from BOTACH. Guess what? The $15.98 carrier is comfortable and won't drop plates out the bottom. Actually it loads from the top and holds an 11x14" plate if you want. This one has a Level IIIA+ 11x14 in front and a IIIA+ 10x12 in back... feels balanced enough, light as hell and lots of adjustment. Just sharing. Everyone doesn't have $200 to spend on a carrier. WILL IT WORK? YEAH. Plate position is right on whether it is a 10x12 or a 11x14 (internal adjuster strap at bottom of each pocket you use with anything shorter than an 11x14). VERY durable material, stitching is good.

Is FERRO a lot cooler? Is it cool to buy USA? Of course.
