Search 1892 in this thread. I posted the contact info for a guy doing a survey on them like Bert did on the Model 1894's. Every rifle's info that is contributed, gives a broader database. |

Trap thanks again for all the info! I Grabbed my dads '94 while I was up there for fathers day and he asked if I could find out the date of mfg on it. So if you don't mind ,again, when you get a chance could you look it up? S/N 1593060.
Thanks! I got Bret's contact info and I'm going to try to get some pics of my '92 over to him this week. |

It's not Bert that's doing the 1892's, it's another guy, I'll try and find his info and post it here later.
S/N 1593060 was made in 1949, with 100,000 made that year. |

The 24's were made from 1938 to 1957, only 5 were built in 1938, and the last one made in 1957 was 116,280. Now, the reason I say "could have been 1946". Production records are incomplete during the war years. In 1942 the last one made, was serial number 47,732 with, 3,215 made that year. 1943 and 44 had no production. 1945 only 230 were made with that last serial number of 47,962. 1946 had no records. 1947 shows 10,978 made, last serial number was 58,940. Probably a safe bet that it was made in 1947. I need to dig mine out and date it, I keep forgetting to check it! ![]() |

Im at a dead end with my Model '97 Trench gun #C 60522. I called Winchester they said it was manufactured in 1898 and couldnt tell me anymore. I beleive it has the original bayonet as well. Just trying to find out the history on it before I start to work on getting it fireable again. Any help would be awsomely appreciated! Thank You!

Sorry for the late responses guys, I've been up in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho burning up pounds of milsurp ammo, and making some noise with Tannerite. Rough job, but someone had to do it.

Contact Bert with Good clear pics of the markings, and overall gun. There wasn't much info on the trench guns, but he can tell at a glance if it's the real thing, or something someone stuck together. marysdad, here on the forums, with pics of the bayo and markings. |

The rifle has been completely refinished and collector value destroyed. As a family heirloom, it's still priceless. ![]() It would be a safe bet it's in shooting condition, judging by the effort somebody put into the refinish. The stock was originally an oil finish, side plates were blued, and the receiver was usually color case. What caliber is it? |

Sorry DFF, I only have the pre 1964 data.
1963 ended at circa serial number 2,600,500, #3,000,000 was assembled in 1970. So just a guess, I would say about 1967 or 68? |
