Post your or just SKS pictures.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yugoslavian 59/66 Fit & finish is excellent especially for a mass produced military rifle and with the scope mounted it has very good balance to it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is the last one that I sold: The aftermarket fixed 10 rounder was later removed (didn't work well). ![]() Last edited by FiveSeven; 11-24-2011 at 12:12 PM.. |

Nice blond furniture. My 59/66 is a little more reddish brown. Here's my beautiful babe(and my girlfriend).

I'll play.
Here is my first rifle - a Chicom capture from Cambodia - brought home by my Father. Yes, I still have capture documents and some of the original ammo my Dad brought home. Interesting, but in 1970 when this was given to me, SKS's were pretty rare. BTW - Might be better if this was in the Curio and Relic section????

Pretty nice SKS you got. No prob..... Yah, there's way too many RH muzzle breaks out there. Converting to LH is not worth it at all. I believe there's several RH muzzle breaks on that website, just don't get flash suppressor one. And if you get 74 type break, make sure you get that spacer to align you break properly, you can even spot weld it if you chose to. |

The bipod is a rail mounted Vltor style. http://riflegear.com/showproduct.asp...d-bipod-modpod This style is great for having a really low profile when using flush mags (not in the picture) and doesn't interfere with the action but does add more front weight to an already front heavy rifle. Thanks for looking ![]() P.S. Nice paratrooper, if mine had furniture like that, I may not have taken the Tapco plunge! P.P.S. As a side note, the link is NOT where I got the bipod and not what I paid for it. Needed to make that clear before somebody gives me the business for a $200 bipod on a $150 rifle. Although the rail is pretty nice, because it needs to be removed is a drawback IMO. Most say that they don't clean the gas piston every time but I disagree.
Every time you shoot there's a lot of fouling inside the tube and on the piston and if you don't clean every time you might end up with carbon buildup in which case it would be nearly impossible to remove. I can see how this type of rail would work well on AK, since once the bolt is connected to piston and once removed the tube can be clean pretty easy, not so with SKS. I did mount a red dot on one SKS and after seeing how I could not remove the gas tube I modified the mount so it's permanent and gas tube is removable. Before. ![]() After. ![]() As to bipod, It looks nice and even if you did spend close to that price, so what if it's on less expensive rifle? I think it looks cheesy when someone puts cheap stuff on expensive rifles. Last edited by FiveSeven; 06-07-2010 at 3:57 PM.. |

Both were purchased new/unissued. I feel terrible about what I did to the wood stock (I broke the upper handguard when trying to remove it from the gas tube & did a crappy gloss finish on the rest of it) and want to make it look like it used to, but what's done is done. I wiped the bayos down with remoil and they look kind of shiny fromt the camera's flash, but they're actually kind of a flat color; they aren't very sharp either like Mosins and other rifles.
![]() ![]() Feel free to call me bubba, I don't care. The plastic SKS and a 10/22 are my primary shooters, I take them everywhere and shoot the piss out of em. I don't like the appearance of that donkey dong mag very much, but giant 50+rd mags are the most reliable mags I've ever used. Sadly, this old girl is ready to be retired soon, she's seen about 50,000rds in the past three years and isn't performing as well as she used to. The 10/22 has been rebarreled twice already, but I don't quite know how to rebarrel an SKS otherwise I'd have done it already. Neither of these weapons are in California. Russian bought in 95 for 89.00 should have bought 10. The S-12 was along for the ride.

was shooting my friends sks, and it led me to search around and i couldn't find anyone on google ever mentioning that you can load loose rounds into an sks faster than any gun by opening the bottom, follower and all and throwing the rounds in, tilting the gun to makesure they're all the way to the back, and slamming it shut
so im just wondering if its well known, or there's a reason not to, or just not many care Last edited by yaybacon; 11-26-2011 at 2:08 PM.. |
