I've currently just got the KAC Shield patch and some ideas based on their rifles.
Patch I got from you, by the way, thanks a lot. Great shipping. Didn't realize you were in Duarte. How do you like their BUIS? I've been thinking about using them for a BUIS on a long barrel build. |

to answer your question, i really like KAC's line of BUIS. i have experience with BUIS by ARMS, MI, PRI, Troy, and KAC... of them all i like KAC's best because of a few things. 1) they are really low profile 2) they flip up and down without the use of buttons 3) they are rock solid in terms of mounting, maintaining zero, and staying in deployed or stowed postions. the main reason i switched over to KAC BUIS in the first place was that i had a clearance issue with the VTAC flash light mount that i like to run on the end of the rail. there were no other BUIS that i could find that would work in the limited space that the VTAC mount would allow for. others would fit but cannot be deployed or retracted because of buttons that needed to be pressed. KAC's doesn't need that so it made it the best choice for my intended usage. this can be seen in this picture: ![]() KAC Front and Rear Flip Sights (the rear one is the 300M model) Last edited by pacrimguru; 03-21-2010 at 12:47 AM.. |

I'd love a URX II rail for a future build. Anyone have access to the barrel nut tool or able to get a barrel installed for me? (Know someone who can do this in So Cal at least?)
Nice looking rifles guys. Very nice. |

I've got a Knight's rail and a few patches but alas no upper to mount it on just yet. So no pics yet, but soon...

But alas, I have a legit question. Is the URX available in anything other black? I'd love a rifle length URX in FDE. Would be great for a Mk12 (Is that right) clone. |

I've got a friend local who will Duracoat my parts just for the Duracoat. Trick is to have enough parts to use the majority of the Duracoat so I don't lose out too much on the deal. Who knows, maybe I'll send Technique a PM and see how things work out. I still need a lower for my next build anyway. Thanks for all the help and the inspiration with the pricey goodies. |

Thanks! I actually got a pretty good deal on it from another CalGunner who ended up receiving it in a trade. He didn't need it so he contacted me.

the short answer for most people is no. in terms of performance, it is way up there but a $400+ brake is pretty extreme for most people to comprehend. in terms of "wow factor" than yes, absolutely. it just depends. i enjoy shooting mine and i feel like i'm compromising whenever i shoot my uppers that don't have it on. it does everything as advertised... it is a bit better than everything out there. but is the price worth that edge? that's up to the end user to decide.
if you can swing it then i say go for it. if you're going to break (no pun intended) yourself doing it then don't. there are plenty of brakes that come close in performance but non that completely match it. |

pacrimguru,
Have you had a chance to spend some ammo at night time with any of the KAC Triple Taps on? It looks like it would hide some flash, but hard to say. I've always had hiders on my oll's... hard habit to break, but with the hype and possible benefit and now that someone that's worth buying from carries them I may consider it. |

![]() First off I don't have one so take what I say with a grain of salt. BUT I have seen a lot of rounds fired through these things first hand day and night. The flash seems to depend on barrel length and how clean the break is kept. For instance the last class I was at Chris Costa's SBR was barking flames even during the day. On the other hand Travis's (I believe it was a 14.5) didn't have much flash at all... I asked about it and the response I got was obviously the longer the barrel the better and also keeping it clean makes a big difference... Like I said, take that with a grain of salt... |

I am sure your findings are correct, I am just giving my little but of experience. You definitely know more than me on this. On a side note I would think there are some more contributing factors, maybe ammo, weather, and ect. ect.
