Not fair
  It seems to function flawlessly IMO, I am very happy with it. Of course I was happy to finally get my hands back on an AR again period! I've gotten to play around with them infrequently, but the best was at Twentynine Palms 12 years ago when I took to the range with a M16A2 and scored 5 perfect sessions on semi and 2 on burst.

Speaking of Carbon Fiber. I have an old Professional Ordnance Carbon Fiber upper with match grade fluted barrel. It fits on my registered AR and really cuts down on the weight.
I wonder if I should get the Vulcan CF lower for the PO CF upper. That should make the rifle weigh something like 1 pound.

This is going to sound really stupid but can you have a threaded flash suppressor on your AR-15 if the barrel is 16" or more and you have the fixed 10 round magazine?

tight fit
The tight fit of the bull barrel upper is a good thing. Nice solid lockup between the upper and lower. A little tight is much better than a lot of slop.
I had a similar upper years ago that was a very tightly fitted on my Registered PWA lower. Made a very accurate rifle though. Gunner

If I were you, i'd get a nice A1 stock, or the magpul stock (forget part number). upper is DPMS low-pro upper (no FA), 24" stainless 1:9 barrel, free float handguards and some scope i should replace soon. that's basically it! I'm in search for a bipod and i'm set.

    The IS a mag. in there.. Need to get a bushmaster.. Hell, need to get to AZ!! Specs- LMT MRP rifle legnth, 16" CL USGI barrel (Vortex to be added) LMT bolt and carrier Stag Arms 6 position M4 stock Sun Devil lower Stag Arms LPK Aimpoint Comp M2 on LaRue mount BUIS to come soon... Needs a CLP bath to clean it up...
