Hey everyone, a brand new shooter here. A friend of mine introduced me to the joys of shooting when I visited him in Colorado. About to pick up my first pistol this week!

While I'm on the waiting period, I've been looking for a range to shoot at here in the Sac area but there don't seem to be that many. Can anyone recommend me some?

Oh a little about me I guess, I've worked in the computer science/engineering field for a while: sun micro, a short research stint at SPAWAR, Intel and finally started my own company

Recently I completed my first AR style rifle with a big help from the info here on CalGuns. Amanda here.. checking in from Woodland. I grew up here, but moved to WA state for 5 years where I purchased my beloved Sig P250 and had a concealed carry permit.
Still have the 250. Freakin' California... somedays I wonder why I moved back..

Anyway, my pistol collection has expanded, and I've added a Weatherby SA08 12ga & a Browning Xbolt .243. Looking forward to a lot of hunting in the next few years. :-)

I recently moved from Sacramento County to EDC to have a bit more space and a bit more consistency in 2nd freedoms.

In the recent years after serving in the Air Force I have became very politically charged and a self proclaimed gun expert (please not self proclaimed). I'm specifically interested in combat specific arms such as; Black Rifles, Combat Shotguns, Concealable pistols and long range (800-1k yrd) rifles.

PRO-NRA brand new on this board. Live in Sacramento Land Park area. Spent 22 1/2 years in the military and just retired due to disability. I am a 100% disabled veteran. Shot a lot in the service (did not mind it at all) and now continuing my weapons proficiency privately. Man I did not thought about what it cost the government with the many thousands of rounds I sent down range over the years.
