I kinda like that setup... Sence my wife wont allow any gun stuff in the house I have to do everything in the garage. If or when I ever start reloading it will probably be done outside right above the doghouse where I would be living by then....

Here's my humble entry. 2x4 framed. 3/4" oak veneered plywood for the counter top. 3/4" particle board for the interior shelves and exterior side. The whole bench is bolted on to the wall. I try to keep my equipment to a minimum. The only power tool I have is the battery operated drill I use to trim cases with. It's not a large bench and I'm a small volume reloader anyway.

OK Guys,
If no one laughs I will post a couple of more. Here is my reloading bench: It's a old (working) 10" table saw with a sheet of plywood on top. On top of that I have mounted my two presses; Dillon 550 and Lee Pro 1000. And for special effects I have a Waldmann worklight, 3 x 13watt PL's and a swivel magnifiing glass. Works for me! Nothing wrong with doin' it before I get to be an expert is there? Anyway more pics of my style; I call it my 'style' as what I do has to have immediate gratification, no two day projects for me. Instant only. Happy New Year, I am going over to Phoenix now to visit Dillon. Get a life, visit my friends, who happen to live near Dillon Precision. ![]() Max |

I didn't know Dillon was in Scottsdale. I'm going to be in Scottsdale in February. I don't have any dillon products, but I may have to swing by there anyways. Do they have a showroom? Last edited by Chris M; 12-28-2009 at 7:59 AM.. |

Nah, old and messed up -- at least as far as it's original purpose. It used to be a great piece of furniture.

M47Dragon,
cool desk. Just make sure you use "L" brackets to fasten it to a wall (for minimal movement) and you should be GTG! Love looking at folks set-up's! In Christ: Raymond |

You guys sure gave me good ideas (and some not so good ideas) for building a reloading bench.

Here is my somewhat cluttered reloading/garage set up. I used an old kithen table top & built a sturdy stand. On one end of the stand I mounted casters. I made a dolly to lift up one the end & engage the casters on the other end so I can move it by myself.
2 Dillon 650's & a Rockchucker.

Mine is small and simple K.I.S.S.
Turret heads allow three calibers per head. Just swap heads, no re-adjusting. I keep more supplies off site. Never put all your eggs in one basket. ![]()

Fullspeed1,
great looking work bench. It looks very similar to mine. (Post #1). Make sure you use thick "L" brackets to affix it to the 2"x4" wood beams within your walls. This will ensure the least amount of movement, hence giving you the most constant powder drops. Good job. It's funny, but when I look at all the crazy cool set-up's in the above pictures, it is NOT the presses or gadgets that catch my attention. The FIRST THING that catches my attention is how sturdy the work bench is, and how securly it is fastened to the wall or floor. Good job on all the cool set-up's so far. THIS REALLY SHOULD BE A STICKY POST!! Shoot with a purpose. In Christ: Raymond

Not sure if the pics will show up. I made the top out of a piece of sub floor, the sides are a solid core door cut down with 2x4's screwed to the bench and then fixed to the wall at the top and near the bottom. My father in law made the press bracket so when I want to loa for my rifle I pull the coax out from under and slide it into the bracket and bolt it down. I try to keep lots of open bench space to set up my scale, power measure, load tays etc.

10FCP,
when you have longer pieces of horizontal wood, it is good to place a few verticle supports near the middle...or divide them into 3 sections. This will help to prevent the horrible "bowed look" that folks get when placing heavy objects (boolits) on the horizontal boards. The pix are old (2003)...any current pix? In Christ: Raymond

My camera is jacked up. I just took those. The top of the shelf is a piece of 1 1/16 sub floor and the middle is 3/4. The underside is bracketed to the wall as well as the side. The middle section holds my rifle dies, Lee classic primer and powder stuff and misc tools. It'll flex if I stand on the middle but it's pretty damn sturdy. One of the pics didn't get attached. The bottom has another shelf where some bullets, brass primers etc get stored. I also keep stuff under it.

I'm going to be getting a new bench soon, as soon as I get that one up and running, I'll post some pictures. These look great IMO, I think some of you need to give yourself more credit.
