Default Anyone else running a BCA .22LR upper on their AR?

I ordered one last year, forgot all about it, then I just stumbled across the box and reminded myself I have it. Have not been out to the range with it yet, anyone here running one? I recall I saw a YouTuber try it out and he had good luck, it ran well and he liked it.

Feedback? I know it's not the top of the line but if it runs and is halfway accurate, I'm happy!

I have a couple of their uppers that I need to try out, none in 22 though. Interested to hear how it works out for you.

I am tagging this because I bought and tested the Nordic Components 22 LR upper and I am pleased with it. Hope yours is good.

I have a BCA 22wmr. Haven't shot it much but it runs flawlessly. I don't know if the 22LR runs into the same problem but some aftermarket triggers will not work properly with the 22 wmr upper. It's because of the way the notch is cut in the hammer of the trigger.

This is common on all blowback uppers.
Blowback operation guns use the hammer and hammer spring to slow the bolt movement as the bullet moves down the barrel.
Nonstandard hammers often have different shapes or spring designs that do not function the same as a standard milspec type hammer in this regard.

That's good to know because I won't have a dedicated lower for this upper, I had just planned to swap it around to different ARs. Most of my ARs have LaRue Tactical triggers so that could be a potential issue. Perhaps I'll only use it on one of the ARs that still has a stock trigger?

Only testing will let you know the answer to that one.

Capybara
If you can do a search and find the thread that was started about the BCA 22wmr upper when it was first released, there are several of us that listed different triggers that we tried that didn't work. If I remember correctly, my LaRue mbt2s was one that was a no-go. It might save you some time rather than putting triggers in and taking them out of your rifle.

I have the 22lr upper and I get occasional stovepipes when I took it to the range. Used Fiocchi and Aguila HV.

Maybe I need more rounds to break-in the upper. I’ve yet to try my cmmg kit that I sent back as it never fed right even once.

Once the star and planets align, I would drop by SLOSA after calling in “sick” at work

IIRC the Giessele SSAE trigger works with it unless the stovepipes is also contributed by the trigger

They had some of the 22lr uppers where the chambers were cut in too deep where the extractor is. You would get blow cases every now and then. I am a left handed shooter and when a case let go I felt it right away. Some people sending them back for replacement/repair got back properly machined barrels, but some did not. I had 2 of the uppers and of course couldnt locate one to return for replacement, but they did repair the one I did get back to them. Still havent tried it out yet, but extractor cutout is good now.
