Never have purchased a gun from an online retailer (in CA or ID) so not really familiar with the process. Looking at picking up a handgun that seems in short supply except for a few online shops (S&W governor). Does anyone have recommendations for Boise area FFLs that will process an online order from a third party fairly easily? Is it a simple matter of calling the FFL and asking them if they'll receive the order before purchasing the gun online?

I've used Ray at Rays guns and Ammo multiple times. He's a home based FFL in Meridian. Pretty easy to work with. I always email him before shipping to him though. He charges $20
My last online purchase a couple weeks ago I shipped it to Hawktech Arms. That was pretty painless. They told me that as long as their FFL is on file from the site your ordering from, you do not need to contact them prior to ordering. Once received they will call you when it's time to pick it up. They charged me $20. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk |

What part of the TV are you in, exactly? I use Patriot Pawn & Guns in Star, but there are FFL's everywhere in the valley that can help you. Do a Gunbroker search for FFL's in your zip code for a list.

I just used Dave at Idaho Arms and Ammo after a reply from the thread below. It looks like there are several with great reviews. My transaction went very smoothly and would recommend Dave for any online transaction requiring an FFL.
I paid $20 or $25. Independence was $50 for a FFL transaction. https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1830769

I have had a number of guns shipped to Impact guns. They’ve been around forever so most larger distributors like grab a gun already have their ffl info listed in the drop down menu. I don’t even call them. They call me when it arrives. 20 bucks.

That's awesome. I prefer to purchase from local stock when possible, but sometimes the internet comes in handy. Dave has a nice shop. I'm glad he was suggested to me by one of our members here. I need to checkout the other shops recommended to me here.
Need to get my enhanced CCW, but can't seem to plan ahead for the classes.

Check out Boise black rifle in meridian. Not for transfers as I think Rob charges too much, but its a great shop with great people and good inventory. Largest gun store live inventory in the treasure valley is Idaho guns and outdoors at the new Nampa store off 84 and karcher. It’s crazy how much they have. It’s like they went to shot show and said just send us 6 of everything here. Their prices aren’t the best though. |

Most NorCal expats probably know, but Boise Black Rifle is part of the Sacramento and Sparks Black Rifle chain of stores. Very friendly, helpful and good inventory.
Don't know what they charge for transfers.

I think I read a post from them that it was 100$. Way too high for Idaho, but Rob’s stores Rob’s rules. Maybe it’s just the same charge across all 3 stores. I love those guys though and always try and give them my business. Just do FFL transfers elsewhere as I can do them for 20 bucks all over the place. If I feel like driving a bit and visiting a friend I can do it for free. BBR is a top shelf shop for sure, just not the place for transfers which is fine. |
