That ol' 100% committed Christian Wilberforce was the leading abolutionist of his day in the 1820's or so.

In the Born Loser newspaper cartoon the loser Brutis Thornapple's son is called Wilberforce as a joke (a goody two shoes type of kid). As opposed to the ball of fire little neighbor girl Hurricane Hattie.
