If you haven't yet found a realtor, I'd recommend Patty Cole at Sotheby's in Boise. You may tell her that Carol and Steve recommended here. Be aware that HOA's are connected with more than 90% of neighborhoods. We moved up here in 2002 and my first instruction to our realtor at that time was absolutely NO neighborhoods with HOA's.

As far as DMV stuff, you'll be pleasantly surprised by registration fees. You'll also be happy about DMV offices in general. Wife had surgery (horse related) on her left shoulder. She'll be in an arm sling for a month or so. I stopped by the Meridian DMV to pick up a temporary handicapped parking pass...in and out in 5 minutes, and no charges.

UPDATE!!!

I'm here.

Had to time my travel in between storms but ended up driving up last Friday (6th) and started working on Monday (9th). I'm in temp housing in downtown Boise being provided by my company. Not exactly where I'd choose but it's nice, clean, safe and paid for. New company and people are amazing. Commute is less than 15mins and I'm really enjoying everyone/everything so far. Family is still on track to move up in June after school is over and we are listing house in late March/Early April. Chance we may hold onto it and rent it out...but we'll have to just wait and see what both markets are doing before we make that decision.

Stoked to be here and I can't wait to see what the future holds!!

Not sure where you are being housed in DT Boise, but the walkway along the Boise river and the parks are very nice.

That's all about 3/4 mile from my place. Was already planning on checking it out maybe this weekend.
