My packet was delivered 10/24, I didn't send them a trackable money order, so not sure when or if it's been cashed, but I used my DD-214. See how long it takes.

I bought it at a local tortilleria, I could not find a way to track it, only report it as lost or stolen. It was close and convenient to the office, the Post Office is out of the way and usually has long lines. I sent my packet via USPS as we have an Office account.

He did, I need to update my sig. I couldn't believe how long it took. When I moved here to Nevada it took about 2 weeks, start to finish.
I am in Cali a few times a month, the inability to get a non-resident or at least reciprocal agreement with adjoining states is ridiculous. Then again I look at the number of gangbangers and druggies walking the streets without a permit, they seem not to get caught, so maybe running rogue when I drive down may not be a bad idea. I decided to grab an AZ permit after talking to my neighbors. They said NV and AZ have had an on again, off again reciprocal agreement. Searching around it appears every now and then NV removes AZ from the list, not sure why, then adds them back the following year. I asked about Utah, and they said they can't remember Utah or Nevada ever taking each other off the list, so I doubt I will ever apply for it.

I'm glad they both got their permits. I have Arizona, Utah and Florida...so if one drops off of Nevada I still have coverage...as for now all 3 covers Nevada..I'm going to Vegas for Thanksgiving..so I can drive straight to Vegas without stopping at the state line to put on my holster and pistol anymore...I used to have the Nevada permit, but since I have the other 3 permits now ...I let it expire..

I inadvertently allowed my Ariz. permit expire so I need to do the full application over again. Who does paper finger print cards any more?

I did them myself, bought a kit on Amazon. Remember roll and lift, so you don’t smear

I had a local place do mine that also does electronic submissions. They electronically captured my fingerprints, then printed them out on Print Stock Cards. It was $35 for the first card, and $5 for each additional. I am not sure what Cali prices are.

Now if only Cali could get reciprocal agreements with the adjoining states, or issue non-resident. I highly doubt either will happen without a SCOTUS Ruling. Until it does, rogue is the word. Just my thought, but most cops out there don't really ask many questions when they see I am 58 and not 20. Age does have it's advantages when stopped by the cops.

After receiving a call on 10/16/22 (yes, on a Sunday morning) from LASD to schedule my CA CCW license pick-up, I started putting together my AZ CWP (concealed weapon permit) application materials the following week.

I did not have my CA CCW in hand yet, but you don’t need to have one to apply for AZ CWP. You do need to complete firearms training and send AZ DPS a copy of the training certificate.

You will need to send in 2 fingerprint cards, and I would have them done by someone with fingerprinting experience. The person who does the fingerprinting needs to sign the cards, so you really can’t do the fingerprinting yourself.

You also need to fill the card out correctly - height (e.g., 6’ 1” would be 601 and 5’ 11” would be 511) and weight (e.g., 98 lbs would be 098 and 159 lbs would be 115). The instructions are on the second to the last page of the online application.

I also sent in one copy each of: my CCW firearms training certificate of completion, my hunter education certification card, my passport (because I was born outside the U.S.), and my CA driver license (not required). Be sure to send copies of both front and back of documents or cards if there is info on both sides.

I of course sent the $60 fee as well.

I think providing a copy of your CA CCW and/or your social security number will help speed up the background check process.

Here is my timeline:

10/19/22 Did fingerprinting at UPS Store, $29 per fingerprint card. They have the cards there. That was $58. Then went across the parking lot to my bank and got two cashiers checks - one made payable to LASD for $120 and one made payable to AZ DPS for $60. Cashiers checks were at no cost for me from my bank, but I did not know how to check if the AZ DPS check was cashed.

10/20/22 - went to the post office and mailed my printed and signed application, cashiers check to AZ DPS, and required copies of documents in a large envelope.

10/25/22 - picked up my CA CCW from LASD

11/3/22 - received AZ CWP permit in the mail. It was issued on 10/27/22 and will expire on 10/27/27.

13 days is all it took for me to get my AZ CWP. The cost is not cheap: $58 for fingerprinting, $60 for the AZ permit fee, and $200 for CCW firearms training (not including the ammo needed for training).

I can now carry concealed in AZ and UT. Just in time for my trip to both states.

I thought about applying for UT concealed weapon permit so I could carry in WA, but it requires a stamp and signature from my CCW trainer. It was too much of a hassle to get that, and I figured the AZ permit is good enough for most of my traveling.

There is no photo on the permit, so it is expected you will have photo ID with you when you carry your AZ CWP.

If you already had firearms training, I think the AZ CWP is a good one to apply for, especially if you travel to Vegas often.

1) You can and people have done their own prints.
2) Unless you paid for separate training for AZ then your $200 fee is not applicable.
3) You could have just used your CA CCW for your training requirements.
FYI my UPS Store did my prints and my husband's free as box holders.

Permit finally received today 11/28. Issue date on the permit is back to May when the past one expired. So seven months to get it in hand.

You don't get a new expiration date for renewals.

Couple phone numbers on the "Contact Us" tab of their webpage, others have posted a phone number in this thread previously as well.

Yes, I know. Just a bummer to not have it in hand for those six months.

If you don't want to wait on hold, I have found that they respond fairly quickly to emails.

This is why you get multiple permits that overlap effective dates for outside CA coverage.

Stanislaus County sets the date based on when you pick up the permit. So if you pick up 5 days before your current one expires, you lose 5 days of the two years your previous one was valid. Of you do without your permit and wait until after expiration and pick up the first day they are open for that. A bit of a lose-lose situation

Roll them yourself.

From what I understand I need to mail:

(1) Application
(2) Copy of driver's license
(3) Copy of training certificate
(4) 2 fingerprint cards (FBI 258 blue form)
(5) $60 check
I’ve rolled them for my SO for UT. Read or watch some tutorials.

And yes, that’s all you need to send in. Not sure they take checks though. Should be a money order.

Read through some posts from this year and you will see who has.

The class I took in May 2021 for Arizona and Utah non-resident CCW had everyone in the class roll their own fingerprint cards. I received both licenses several weeks later.

Watch a Youtube video and you'll be able to do it yourself.

Mailed my renewal on 12/28/22. With the holidays and such, we'll see how long it takes.

Expires Mar 27, but at least AZ is constitutional carry now, though that screws me with the feds due to the school zones that are down the road from the family I would go visit.
