Hey all,
I'm interested in building a full length AR rifle with a fixed A2 stock or something very similar to that stock. Some early research, I found A2 lower receivers like Anderson but they are fully assembled, so cost more which doesn't seem worth it. Since I'm NOT trying to build an exact replicate of a M16A2 build, does it matter which AR15 lower I use? Thanks. |

Nope it won’t matter. You can find complete receivers with an A2 stock for decent prices. If not then just build your own.

A2 stock will fit an any lower. Be sure to use a rifle length buffer tube, spring, and buffer, and don't forget the spacer that goes on the end of the buffer tube before sliding the stock on. You will also need an A2 length screw to hold the stock on. When the went from A1 to A2 stock, thats when the spacer and longer bolt came into play to take up the extra 5/8" in length of the A2 stock.
