Anyone know about Colorado open carry laws and wearing a jacket?
Searched web for Colorado definition of open vrs concealed, partially or fully visible, wearing outer layers due to elements requiring and not much to be found. Definitely nothing definitive, arghh. CCW permits I have are allowed in Colorado but not for non residence of licensing state. Colorado does not recognize CA due to lack of reciprocity. If wrong forum, please move as needed

To my knowledge there is no exception for open carry just because it is cold. However the open carry laws really only impact you once you leave the vehicle. Colorado treats your vehicle as an extension of your home and you can carry a loaded handgun either concealed or open on your person while in your vehicle.

What is definition of open carry? Does gun need to be fully visible or will a portion of gun being visible meet requirement? My understanding is you need to have gun visible so that anyone you encounter has enough knowledge to know you are carrying a firearm.
NV open carry, from what I have read allows you to basically conceal gun as long as portion of gun remains visible such as base pad of magazine or bottom portion of grip.

When I was in Colorado, I didn’t OC sometimes due to being in touristy areas. It is what it is, sadly.

Open carry in Colorado is legal except within the city limits of Denver. To carry concealed one must have a Colorado CCW or a CCW that is honored by Colorado. They do not issue permits to non-residents nor do they honor non-resident permits from residents of California. For example if you are a California resident with a a non-resident Arizona permit that is a no go. If you are an Arizona resident with an Arizona permit that will work. FYI, it is legal to conceal in your vehicle without any permit at all. Outside your vehicle you must have a recognized permit. I hope that helps.
