Not sure how you will get any money back but please hit the red triangle on your PMs. to let the mods. know there is a problem.

Mods. will review and either intervene if there is a chance or ban him.

Good luck/condolences.

Looks like he has a WTB ad up.

I suggest you warn others there.

That will stir the pot and possibly get a faster response.

What possessed you to send $150 in irretrievable funds to a person who just joined the forum. Seriously, where have you been?

Call it a cheap lesson - many have paid way more. Now hopefully the sting of it never leaves you, so you don't do it or anything like it again.

The scammers will keep creating new names and always be back for more. There is no way to get your money back. But it looks like the guy from 2012 is wondering the same thing. How were you not aware of the risk? Dealing with a new member….

Rule #1 - Never use Zelle or Venmo for transactions like that. If you MUST pay first and get it shipped use Paypal and have the seller send YOU an invoice, in which he/she must attach a tracking number to...if they don't want to do that and insist zelle or venmo its obviously a scam....

The marketplace should only be for contributors and members with over 500 posts. That would end this monkey business forever.

He is probably not in Sacramento... do you have any proof of his location?

File a police report

take police report to his bank
take the report to your bank to

Who can I send money to with Zelle®?
You can send money to almost anyone1 you know and trust with a bank account in the U.S. When using Zelle®, at least one side of the transaction (sender or receiver) must have access to Zelle® through their bank or credit union.

Don’t know if your bank offers Zelle®? Check here to see if they offer Zelle®.

If your bank or credit union offers Zelle® - You can send money to almost anyone you know and trust with a bank account in the U.S.

If your bank or credit union does NOT offer Zelle®- The person you want to send money to, or receive money from, must have access to Zelle® through their bank or credit union.

Nope. Would not.

That would only discourage a large percentage of honest buyers and sellers who are motivated to join for that reason, and diminish availability of items/sources in a state that already discourage gun sales and purchases by way of the Roster, 1-per-30 limits, and bans, but if lucrative enough a scammer is simply going to post 500 3-word reply posts to get there.

Does nothing but diminish a valuable resource of and access to firearms and parts all while those who would like to abolish gun ownership are doing the same.

The real preventative measure is for people to stop being so gullible and stupid.

Seriously, anyone at this point using Zelle or Venmo to send money to strangers over the internet is just a ridiculous fool, asking to be taken.

This is not something new; it's long been realized and reported as a stupid thing to do for a long time now, not just here but within several different universes and dimensions of the internet and for all sorts of interests and reasons.

Just how many nannies do these people need in life?

No scammer is going to go to the trouble of making 500 posts. There's just no way. Getting rid of the people that use this form for nothing more than financial gain or to steal from others would go a long way.

Be an active member of this forum in other ways besides just posting things for sale. Again being a contributor would be a huge step in the right direction to get rid of scammers and people who only want to try to sell items at over inflated prices.
