Default CCW in Las Vegas legal

planning to drive with my family for vacation in LV and Arizona. I have a CCW Arizona License. Is it legal to carry in Las Vegas esp in Casino’s/ hotels? Or is there a place that I might stay away with? Any input would very much appreciated.

We have no reciprocity with Nevada.

Also, if you carry a gun into a casino, I promise their cameras will detect it before you get within 20 yards of their property.

If you have a CCW from AZ, you’re good to go.

Keep it concealed and you’ll be fine in the hotels and casinos. Don’t be printing or wearing tacticool clothing as you’ll be spotted.

Your AZ CCW has reciprocity. Also you can have an adult beverage and carry in NV with a BAC under .08 keep it safe.

Aside from the Wynn where you walk through metal detectors I don't think casinos are going to notice what is under your clothes.

They may not do anything about it but they know if you are armed. You have no idea of the sophistication level of the surveillance systems the casinos use.

Nope and Nope. Nevada recognizes Arizona and I have carried in Nevada Casinos on numerous occasions including post Las Vegas shooting. (Granted I have a Nevada Permit but there is no way they would know that without stopping me.)

I have never been stopped/ questioned or asked to leave.

Some Casino's do have metal detectors so beware

Nopitdy nopidy nope nope nope!

Their cameras know if you have a firearm. They know when you got there and when you left and with whom.

They probably can’t “officially” know if you are a CCW holder or are LE but they know who has guns and track you throughout the casino.

It's okay if they know you have a gun, doubt they'll ask you to leave as long as you you're losing money to them and don't cause any trouble. If they do ask you to leave then do so.

Maybe they do, But who cares if they are not stopping people and asking them to leave. Vegas doesn't like ANYTHING that interrupts the flow of money. I have security nod to me often but never confront me.

FWIW I was in Vegas in 1980 with a LEO who they did make with the eye in the sky and they did ask him to leave it in his car. But Laws have changed since then and they want people to feel safe. Signs make people feel safe. Security guards disarming people who are carrying does not.

Exactly, just don’t think they don’t know you’re armed.

I only play NL Holden so I’m not losing much money to them… if I even go to a casino at all. The vast majority of times I’m in Vegas I don’t really have the time or inclination to go gambling anyways.

I was in Vegas last weekend and carried in and out of the casinos and hotels no problem.I’m more concerned when I leave it inside the room lock in a gun vault bec the orderly might open my bag. I have Arizona ccw and don’t have a Nevada ccw.just mind your own business and don’t create any attention to yourself.

NV honors AZ CCW permits.

So, it is legal to conceal carry in NV utilizing a valid AZ CCW permit.

Things to keep in mind about NV:

#1. NV laws requires the valid permit holder to be in possession of their valid CCW permit and valid State issued DL/ID, while carrying their firearms.

#2. It is not legal to carry or possess a firearm on any school property, college property, and child care facility property.

This includes the parking lots and driveways on those properties.

#3. Posted no weapons signs at Gov owned/operated buildings have legal weight.

So, it is not legal to carry within any Gov owned or operated buildings, unless you are an exempt person (LEO, etc.).

Several Las Vegas convention centers are owned by Clark County (NV), so it is not legal to carry within those convention centers.

Allegiant Stadium (LV Raiders stadium) is partially owned/operated by Clark County and UNLV, so it is not legal to carry on that property (includes the parking lot).

#4. It is not legal to be under the influence of a controlled substance or have a BAC of 0.08 or greater while in possession of a firearm.

#5. NV trespassing laws allows a private property operator to request a person to leave their property for any reason, failure to comply can result in an arrest for trespassing, breach of peace, and/or public nuisance.

This allows business (stores, malls, casinos, hotels, clubs, etc.) the legal right to ask a person they discover carrying a firearm to leave their property and failing to comply can result in a negative interaction with NV LEOs.

Carried in vegas last week at mandayla bay. There are no firearms signs but Nevada the signs hold no jurisdiction, you will just be asked to leave. Some places have metal detectors or hand wands but didn't encounter any on the strip and Fremont st. went to this place for the kids area 15. Was able to enter the building but they were wanding at some line for attractions. Just keep it concealed and don't adjust yourself in front if people. Stop at state line and loaded up. Have fun be safe.

I was in dickies short and Tshirt. Used Kore belt with tier1 appendix holster.

More and more night clubs and beach clubs in Vegas are setting up metal detectors.

If gambling I suggest leaving it locked in the car.

Like most hotel/casinos in Las Vegas, they have a "no weapons" policy.

If discovered violating this policy, they will give you the following options depending on your player rating and your attitude:
A. Secure the unloaded firearms in your room. (If they are discovered unsecured and/or loaded in your room, then hotel/casino security will confiscate them and notify LVMPD.*)
B. Secure the unloaded firearms with hotel/casino security.
C. Secure the unloaded firearms in your vehicle.
D. Leave the property.

This is all dependent upon being discovered violating their policy.
^"concealed means concealed".

If you try to go to any of their clubs, then you will be discovered (metal detectors).

*Because of the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting incident, several Las Vegas hotel/casinos have implemented new room check/search policies that are part of the TOS for renting a room.
Since you agree to the TOS by renting the room, you give hotel/casino personnel permission to randomly search your room, when you are not in it, for any weapons and other contraband items.
^I know this has been done starting in 2018 and has not stopped. From personal knowledge; Caesars Entertainment properties (Caesars Palace, Bally's, Harrah's, Cromwell, Flamingo, Rio, Linq, Paris, Planet Hollywood), MGM Resorts properties (MGM Grand, Bellagio, Aria, Vdara, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, New York New York), and Wynn Resorts properties (Wynn, Encore) are all doing this.

I have the AZ CCW and was in Vegas 2 weeks ago for a period of 7 days. I carried without issue wherever I went including many of the big casinos. The only place I backtracked from was on the Fremont Street experience because they installed walk through metal detectors and have you empty your pockets into plastic bowls before you walk through the detectors.

FUD.

I carried in a casino. Didn't gamble 1 bit. Just had dinner with friends. Nobody said one word to me about it or even so much as bat an eye at me after I cleared the temperature check station.

I always carry in Vegas, most all of the major casinos. Never had a problem including the shows, Cirq etc. I avoid shows with metal detectors - they have them for a reason (sketch crowds)

I have carried in Las Vegas casinos more times than I can count. Not one time have any cameras detected anything and nobody ever knew I was carrying. Concealed is concealed. stop spreading FUD!!!

At Fremont St experience you tell them you have CCW they call a cop over who looks at the CCW and let’s you in.

Really? I thought they are set up to deter carrying?

Haven’t been there since I’ve they’ve been put up.

I was there on New Years Eve, saw the metal detectors and decided to ask before returning to the car to put it away. Security wasn't a bit surprised and simply called the cop over to check for a valid CCW. Cop looked at the Nevada CCW for about 2 seconds and waved me around the detector. Same thing at the next one at the far end. Easy peezy.

Thats because LVMPD doesn't care if good guys have guns. Ive had a few encounters with them while armed and they never asked for my CCW after I told them. I was even stopped and had my license in the same pocket as my ruger. The officer let me grab my ID without freaking out, taking the gun or asking for my CCW. Although I'm former LE in that state, I doubt they could have known. My guess is, wear your pants above your waistline and don't thug out. You'll be fine.
