WWII. A model 1934 Beretta in .380, made in 1938. My father picked it up in Italy during the month he waited before he invaded the of the south of France. He made the holster.

WWI. A Spanish Izarra in .32 ACP of unknown date. It's a rare long barrel version. Definately war time era. He also made the holster. And the sweetheart grips he made from some downed aircraft canopy. The photo is of his kid sister who was about 15 in the photo. He had no wife or sweetheart at the time.

WWII. A Caturagus combat knive with embelishments to both the knife and the sheath, also by my father during WWII.

WWII. And finally, a 1942 Mauser made Luger. He purchased it in 1947, I believe, for 35 dollars from a gun dealer in Missouri. It's been polished and reblued so it has no collectors value. But it's all numbers matching except for the magazine. And he apparently got inspired by the sweetheart grips he made for the Izarra, so he got carried away with the ones you see in the photo.

I also have the original grips for it as well as the Izarra.

That's cool, rare too.

My Dad served in the US Marines during Vietnam, he wasn't in combat, he was an officer, a Captain, and ran bakeries for the Marines. In 1966 he served his first tour in Da Nang, Vietnam, he brought his WWII Camillus model A ‘KA-BAR’ (WWII USMC pattern 1219c2) fighting utility knife and his WWII era Colt M1911A1 that he bought in Washington DC just after he completed OCS in 1960. In 1967 he did his second tour in Okinawa and his KA-BAR and Colt went with him, I have have owned both since he passed away in 2000.

.

He had US Marine armorers at the Barstow depot accurize it and fit it better for his large hands in 1965, in the early 1970's after his service in the US Marines he sent it to Colt for refinishing.

Weird to think that 50 years from now, our Mk18s and M4s are gonna be in this section.

I'm a relatively new collector, started in about 2017. 2020 and this year have been pretty slow so far in terms of new acquisitions. I'm sitting on a good amount of Mauser rifles. I believe 16 or so of these rifles saw service in WW1 or WW2, the majority being WW2. All the Czech and German rifles definitely saw service in WW2 as the Czech Mauser rifles I own are either German depot rebuilds (i.e. The Germans built new rifles using leftover VZ-98/VZ-23 receivers) or show wartime modifications. The Germans put a lot of beutewaffen or captured weapons into service as their industries rarely were able to keep up with the ever expanding demands of the Wehrmacht.

Cheers, seems like there is a few more I haven't photographed, been too busy.

A lot of nice guns in this thread, I think these "side-discussion areas" get over looked, sadly.
