Open bolt 10/22. Started as a Ruger Charger takedown pistol. Cyclic rate is about 1800 RPM. Recoil is a firm push since it's punching out about 900 grains of lead in one second:

NICE! I had a chance shoot a Norrel conversion 10/22 and it was a blast to shoot. With a drum magazine it took less than 2 seconds to dump the entire drum. My next NFA purchase will be a machinegun

Probably just jealous. I need to figure out if it’s worth doing FFL/SOT/whatever so I can mess around with some of the post samples/manufacture something like that ppsh-41!

If I ever figure out how to upload a pic I'll show my SBR with a YHM Resonator can with a thermal imaging scope.
Yeah, the scope isn't NFA but the overlords of the PRK said I couldn't have one so I had to buy it asap, once I left.

One day I might do that, Mike. Been wondering if it is worth the hassle, but after retirement time shouldn’t be an issue anymore.

Something not a bullet hose. Perfect for afternoon tea & plinking in the garden or parachuting into WWII Germany whilst keeping a stiff upper lip.

Love the Tommy gun. It had a nice rhythmic almost peaceful sound. Hardly any muzzle rise at all.

My small collection of suppressors. I still have 3 more I am waiting on but I basically have all my calibers covered. I have SBR’s many rifles and am am waiting on my newest form 1 to clear. I think my next evolution in the NFA world will be to buy my first machine.

Non-NFA pistol (10.5 inches) with YHM Turbo on the end. Under 300 bucks on sale.

Not hearing safe but takes enough edge off that the car alarms in the range parking lot aren't set off when I shoot it any more. Foamies are all you need.

Sorry about the too-big pic, I don't have anything to resize it with.

When I was looking for a 5.56 suppressor I looked at the YHM Turbo and Turbo K. I ended up going with the Turbo K and it does a decent job of cutting the decibels and I would fathom to say, to my ears it is quieter (relatively speaking as it’s stuff not hearing safe) than my Dead Air Nomad. I like my Turbo K so much that I bought a YHM R9 to dedicate to my PCC’s. For now I use my CGS MOD9 with a 3-lug adapter on my PCCs and it’s a good can but I can’t wait for my R9 to clear. I may even take advantage of the new efile form 4’s and buy a DA Wolfman.

I might have gotten a Turbo K, but it wasn't on the market yet. I didn't really have a use for it when I got it either, I just wanted a .223 can. A Turbo K would be just right for the pistol application imo, because if you have to grab it and use it in a hurry the amount of noise that would get through might not bother you. Whereas without it, the noise is truly horrendous.

Although the R9 is rated for .223 and .308, I wonder how effective it is. The exit hole is pretty big for .223 and .308. The cool thing is it's the new paradigm of changeable couplers, which I don't have any of, yet. Does anyone know if it's typical to use o-rings for that?

Are you talking about the 1.37” adapters that connect a rifle can to the muzzle device? If so, I have not seen a o-ring in an adapter. If so I run YHM Kurz adapters on my Nomad and Turbo K and can’t find fault in them. I originally planned to run the Dead Air KeyMo but they were heavy, long and expensive. I wanted to go with a minimalist setup and started with the Griffin Plan A. The Plan A works fine but I had one of my cans unscrew on me so I decided I wanted the extra security of a locking collar. Hence the Kurz adapter.

I do have o-rings on my pistol cans Nelson devices

Added the Q Erector 22LR to the suppressor collection last week. A fun little plinker on our formerly CA compliant P22:

I can't compete with the FFL 07s but this one is pretty sick

Registered SBR, LMT MARS-L lower with a KAC CQB 11.5" upper

Why the KAC instead of the LMT upper? So you could always win the "which is better" argument?

I've owned both LMT and KAC uppers and prefer the KAC. The KAC has the E3 bolt system which is far superior to a normal AR, LMT (except for the new SPECWAR) handguards are tiny at 9.25", I prefer the KAC barrel profiles, and the uppers are significantly lighter. The gassing on the KAC is better as well, LMT is if not over gassed, it's aggressively gassed.

I prefer the LMT lowers over the SR-15 because of the flared magwell and the ambi bolt catch and release.

What's special about the LMT lower, other than the assumption that everything is of high quality? I'm not left-handed, so I don't care about the ambi stuff.

I know the bolts on both are better than standard AR. The KAC has tapered lugs like SIGs, I assume the LMT does also? LMT has the quick change barrels. Does either upper require a buffer?

I'm wondering if there's a compelling reason to get either a KAC or LMT lower instead of using a good old Colt, or even a PSA for that matter. Not that it matters much right now, the rifles are unfindable. Even just scrounging up an upper will be very tough.

What do you know about that Smoke Stack 45 suppressor? I found one for $400.00 new and was wondering if it is worth it or not?
I plan on picking up a threaded barrel for my Glock 21 to use with a suppressor when I get it.

It's an Octane 45 that SilencerCo made for Blackhawk with a stylish outer shell. Blackhawk decided to branch out into silencers when it looked like the hearing protection act might pass and contracted with SilencerCo to make them. Then the Vegas thing, by complete coincidence, happened and killed the bill. Blackhawk decided to bail on the silencer market and dumped all their inventory on the market for cheap. I wish I had more money back then I would've bought one of everything they sold.

Note this is the old Octane, not the new Octane 2.0 they're selling now, which I think has the Bravo sized replaceable rear end.

edit: Also note, as is standard with SilencerCo stuff, you get basically nothing with the can. If you actually want to use it, you have to buy a piston or a fixed thread coupler. Until then you only have a tubular paperweight.

Your Galil SAR, resembles my Galil AR. I do like Galil’s, though. I have a SAR kit and a welded receiver. Same day I will form 1 and build it.

Thanks for the gentle correction

Here is the 8” RnL 5.56 ACE

My old Orlite mags wouldn’t fit, but with a bit of work, now they do. That short barrel and brake would be loud without a can. Think I’m going to leave the plastic trigger guard in.

Nice Galil family. I have been thinking of buying one for a while but just never found one locally for me to handle. I think 2022 is the year for me to get one.

I got lucky a couple of years ago and found an original mag adapter for the Galil. So I can use AR mags with it as well.

Someone learned how to stick weld on this one!

Looked like this when purchased from GunBroker:
