Default Recommended Training Courses

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any specific training courses they recommend within the Walnut area? My wife and I are new to firearms and we are purchasing one for home defense.

I've been going to route 66 and I know they offer classes, but I'm not sure if the classes they offer fit our needs.

Any recommendations would be truly appreciated!

Just a heads up OP, if you go ITTS, make sure to register sooner than later as they’re booked out a few months in advance currently.

What is your current speed?

Have you already had 2-8 days of classes where you shoot from the holster concealed?

Find a class based upon your current skill level. Itts is high speed.

If you cannot draw from concealment and hit center if mass with a shot timer- then you will develop bad habits and not benefit from a fast paced class

I was in a fast paced class and we shot 1,200 rounds in 2 days. One relay- minimal breaks.

A few people started mashing the trigger and it got worse as the class went on.

Everyone was reloading magazines from cargo pockets and the slower people were running dry

Default Call AllSafe

Call TJ at AllSafe. Explain where you're at and what you want. He has a full range of classes, access to facilities and follow-up opportunities. Been doing this a long time, he'll look after you...

You can take a look at the website for the variety of classes available, but talk to him and you'll get his experience on what is most important to take given your situation:

Default ITTS

I second ITTS. Took their handgun 1 class and it was exactly what I was wanting. Very thorough. The guys are are former and active LEO, mostly Inglewood PD. One guys is head of training for their swat dept, another is a former Marine PMI. Super cool dudes, lots of fun. But like others said, need to register early.

They have tons and tons of classes, package deals, and even not firearms courses like combat triage.

I’ll be at the Carbine 1 class to refresh my training from MCRDSD 15 years ago.
