Default Gun Stores in Sacramento Area

Anyone do a ppt at river city or turners lately? I'm coming from socal and meeting the seller at either location that's no fuss and no b.s. as possible. The turners in socal have been ok albeit slow. This will be an off roster handgun (not an AR pistol). A previous post on this thread said river city needs an appointment for a ppt. Is that still valid?

Thanks sir. At least for the socal stores there are no charges if I pick up after the 10 day waiting period. There's also an option to make an appointment. Is that true for the Turner's on Florin? I'd assume so as a store policy, but thought I'd double check. Thanks!

Thats new, i just did a PPT there a couple weeks ago.

They also started charging a $25 "PPT processing fee" for all PPTs. This is on top of the state PPT fee, so its a total of $72 to do a PPT there. I dont think that is legal but I doubt DOJ cares.

Last Stand Readiness & Tactical is on Florian road. Haven’t purchased anything there but they seemed like good people. Sacramento Gun Club is good for transfers. Sold my MP45 to a Calgunner there with no problems. Bought my CZ pcr in January. Good price and no problems.

Sacramento Gun Club is the place that confiscated some guy's blocked magazines under their own interpretation of the law. Pass on giving them any business. Do a forums search, there's a thread about it.

Turner’s on Florin was great! Saturday morning 1st customer. River City needed an appointment and didn’t seem very interested. Last Stand, my personal best. Willing to “walk us new gun owners” through it.

I agree to a point.

I have shopped at River City for many years. I know Dean and the other guys fairly well. They seem grumpy because of the class of clientele the neighborhood brings in. Okay shoot me but if they were in Granite Bay it would be different.

When I go in their I make it clear that I am window shopping or, if I am ready to buy, I let them know that also. No chitchat that wastes time, all my paperwork and money ready, and a patient attitude.

I did my ppt at Turner's on Florin a month ago. It went well. An appointment was required, but they were fast. Whoever said that this turners charges an extra fee for ppt is complete fud or they don't understand the cost of ppt is fixed and set by the state.

I did one at the gun range and had to swallow their extra processing fee.

Not too happy about that but is what it is. Other than that it was a good experience and the guy who was working was helpful and has a good attitude

I did a PPT at Turners in Roseville. It was very fast and smooth. They are my favorite place to PPT now.

I will never give SAC BLACK RIFLE any type of business again. Rude, arrogant, **** service.

Another vote in favor of TURNER'S ROSEVILLE. Great selection, nice folks.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at Sac Black Rifle for 5 years now thru quite a few staff changes from buying firearms and accessories from them to multiple PPTs there as both buyer and seller.

Is your opinion based on more than one experience?
