Thumbs up Santa Clara Co Sheriff Smith is issuing CCWs again...

Mods: If true, this is important enough, IMO, to allow cross-posting.

The below was posted recently in the Santa Clara Co thread (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=352799) in the County CCW Information forum. If you live in Santa Clara Co, have GC that would pass in a Light Red or even Yellow county (see: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...php?p=23662809), and you can afford to waste the time, money and effort involved with getting a Good Cause determination, now is the time to apply.

If you have any questions or comments for JBG, best to post them at that other thread, where he posts, and not in this one (which is just to spread this news around). IIRC, he's been in contact with Smith for ~9 months (and known her for decades).

ETA: If anyone does apply, please send me or baggss a PM after you've been issued or denied saying roughly what you used as Good Cause to help us keep the CA CCW GC map accurate re. the color for Santa Clara Co.

I know of 3 people (one who had his permit issued) and the other 2 will probably get them issued. Not only did they not contribute to the Sheriff's re-election, none of them voted for her.

Let the arrows begin!

(1) They are at heightened risk due to previous attacks or credible (e.g., reported) threats against them or a family member's life?

(2) They are at heightened risk due to their profession or business activities (e.g., Au/Ag dealers, jewelry dealers, pharmacists/pharma sales rep, small business owner or landlord making cash sales or rental deposits).

(3) Their profession or business requires them to be at locales with little or no cellphone coverage and/or long LE response times (e.g., wilderness photographer).

(4) There's something about them that makes them particularly vulnerable to attack (e.g., female RE agent showing houses while alone, an obvious physical handicap or medical issue that makes fighting or fleeing impractical).

FWIW, the vast majority of us do not fall into any of the four above categories.

Giving this a bump.

If you live in SClara Co and you have GC that will pass in a Light Red county, go and apply and you'll probably be issued. If you only have GC that would pass in a Yellow county, now is the time to try. For details of what passes in each color of the map, see http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...php?p=23662809)

When the next revision of the map comes out in about a week, SClara Co will be Light Red. (The map below will automatically update to reflect that.) What we need to know next is if Smith issues for Yellow GC reasons. We'll only find that out if people with those reasons apply. You'll only find out if you can get issued if you apply. If you apply, be sure to let us (CGN, baggss and/or me) know how it goes.
