Default Panchoe and tummy hills cleanup?

Came back from Tumey Hill yesterday. Even though you can't go off trail found a decent spot to shoot before it got too hot. One thing I noticed which I'm sure other shooters are aware of this the garage left behind. 1 of the worst spot right off the road is between gate 1 and 2 shooting downhill to the right before the curb; tires with rims, target stands, beer cans, just garbage etc. One thing everything has in common is the amount of shotgun shell hulls left behind. I've seen other BLM have organized clean up but has anyone done one for Tumey? I tossed like 4 garbage bags full by the McDonald's by the exit. Just curious as even though it's not as bad as some other places I seen; I'd hate to see it shut down due to trash as I've seen other have

I think I gotta say is that people seem more involved with cleanup down south than here in the central coast. That or I haven't seen any info on cleanup details. Honestly this is my first year there and have been there only a few times so I do need to explore more. Times that I have gone, I do bring a few trash bags with me and try to clean up the area before I leave; just frustrating to go back to the same area and see it worst than when I left it; but then again you know how people are. One of the big things I see here are shotgun shell hulls. What do you guys do to recycle them or do you just throw them away? I read that other just toss them.

When i come back the sign is usually shot all to @@$!$!#$!$. I do what i can . AS you can tell by this thread not many people even looked at it let alone post something .Stay the course

Right on, I appreciate the encouragement and your efforts down south of clean up. Came back from Tumey Hills and loaded up another 5 bags of garbage mainly consisting of shotgun shell hulls. Yup, any signs I seen are shot to sh$t also. A few weeks ago I seen that Rangers put up new signs and today they are all shot up. Good thing for me is that there are a lot of garbage dumpers by the truck stop before you enter the BLM so I don't have to bring the garbage back home. I cannot believe how much a half bag of shotgun shells weights...lol. Thanks for your feedback and good luck on your guys cleanup.

always leave it cleaner than it was when you got there, its the right thing to do!

one of the problems is that the people that leave the trash are not the people who frequent the forums or enjoy gun culture

Yup, I started going to BLM to do other style of shooting vs what I can do at Laguna Seca or Markleys. I see that your from the Monterey Bay Area also. By chance have you been to Williams Hills past King City? I’ve only been to Tumey Hills so far

Very true; I’ve hear of a lot of places getting shut down because of trash. When I have kids, I wanna make sure I have a place to take them to show them how to shoot and be responsible before and afterwards with trash cleanup

Saw a guy years ago shooting on one of those cheapy/freebie Harbor Freight tarps.

One of the easiest ways I've learned to corral your own brass/hulls!
