Today a friend in Philadelphia just received his. It’s a correct Colt at least
slide/ framewise from 1945;GHD inspected. Refinished and some marks
are thin but still a WW2 Colt that’s got some significance to it.

Nice! Kind of makes the 'beat to crap pieces of junk' folks look silly who are nay-saying this offering from the CMP.

I haven't gotten so much as an email, starting to get paranoid something happened to my packet or that it was incomplete somehow!

I'm in the same boat but I wouldn't start to lose hope yet, still somewhat early in their process.

Looks like they are only in the 3500s for now, and holidays are coming up so this is going to slow down for a while too.

I kinda expected that they would assign everyone their number by now, even if we had to wait to get the pistol.

CMP or not? Guy may just be using that falsely as a selling ploy. But it is awful. Bad refinish. Over blasted. If this is indeed a example, I think it is pretty bad. So for now I remain respectfully a "naysayer", till I see many, many more quality ones show up.

Yes some will get lucky, good for them. A lot will get crap. And they will not be proud of that, and they will not be showing the crappy ones to us either. Only the good ones will get shown off.

So you see one example that may or may not be from CMP and that translates to "A lot will get crap."?

Hate seeing buyers just flip these for a profit. CMP did say one pistol per person correct?

I think they have, but telling us all what it is is the time consuming part.

Basically, they ignore the C&R and it has to be sent to a FFL1, where you pay their" fees" and sales tax which adds up the price.

Yes 1 per person to prevent this behavior. He didn't even get a single bid so it was a failed "flip" for him

Someone on the CMP forums made a projection graph based on current numbers drawn and calls made. According to that, number drawing will continue into March.

How did you just get the call at 2,171 when bigbully got his call at 3,451 over 3 weeks ago?

Yes, my understanding is you get the e-mail with your random number generated listing. Then you get the follow up call several weeks later for payment confirmation.

I still have not yet received a number, don't even know if they received my paperwork.

I really thought they would determine everyone's number and send them out by now.

I’ve heard nothing, but the latest update says it may be March before everyone gets notified of their number.

I have had four come into the shop so far; two Remington Rand 1911A1s, one Ithica 1911A1 and one Colt 1911 (not an A1). They all looked good and correct (minus the CMP grips). All had been rearsenaled and the Ithica was had the heavy park. So far the Colt has checked out correct except for the barrel. Remember these guns were received from the Army and are not rebuilt by the CMP, just unboxed, checked over and sold. I have not see a Springfield yet. I'm waiting on mine, but I would not hesitate to purchase a piece of history.
